George Farmer: Released by Seahawks
Farmer was released by the Seahawks on Tuesday, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR reports.
Farmer was one of 11 running backs on the depth chart but will now hit the free agency market after he failed to standout from the crowd. The 23-year-old signed a reserve/future contract with the team in January after playing in two games for the Seahawks during the 2016 season.

Seahawks' George Farmer: Signs future deal with Seahawks
Farmer signed a futures contract with the Seahawks on Monday, 710 ESPN Seattle reports.
Farmer spent time with Seattle during the regular season and was used primarily as a third-down back in the two games he saw live action. However, he was ousted the first week of December in order to supply fullback help when the team's starter went down. He'll enter the offseason buried on the depth chart.

George Farmer: Waived by Seahawks
Farmer was waived by the Seahawks on Tuesday, the Seattle Times reports.
The Seahawks needed Farmer's roster spot to add fullback Marcel Reece because Will Tukuafu is in the concussion protocol and likely won't play this week. Reece can also catch passes, which made Farmer, the third-down back the last two games, expendable. Farmer could be brought back at some point.

Seahawks' George Farmer: Used in third-down role Sunday
Farmer was used as the third-down back Sunday against the Panthers for the second week in a row but only totaled one yard on one carry.
Farmer didn't catch his only target. Farmer likely won't contribute much, but he could continue to see playing time as the third-down back. He played 17 snaps in Week 12 and nine in Week 13. Troymaine Pope is the backup to Thomas Rawls. Alex Collins was inactive Sunday.

Seahawks' George Farmer: Promoted to active roster
Farmer was signed to the Seahawks' active roster Wednesday.
Farmer landed on injured reserve prior to the start of the regular season but was later released with an injury settlement, only to be signed to the Seahawks' practice squad earlier this month. A former college receiver, Farmer could contribute in the passing game with C.J. Prosise (shoulder) sidelined.

Seahawks' George Farmer: Suffers ankle injury
Farmer (ankle) was placed on the Seahawks' injured reserve list Wednesday, Stephen Cohen of SeattlePi.com reports.
Farmer suffered an ankle injury in practice, but the severity of his situation remains clouded. However, Seattle currently employs a stable of capable tailbacks, and his absence is unlikely to have a significant impact on the team.
