Taryn Christion: Candidate to join Lions
Christion worked out with the Lions on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The Lions will be seeking a short-term backup replacement at quarterback if both Matthew Stafford (back) and Jeff Driskel (hamstring) are unable to play on Thanksgiving Day, so the team worked out both Christion and fellow free agent Joe Callahan on Tuesday. Christion completed 11 of 17 passes for 142 yards and a score as a member of the Cowboys during their preseason finale, but the undrafted rookie has yet to appear on an active 53-man roster in the regular season.

Taryn Christion: Released from practice squad
Christion was released from the Steelers' practice squad Monday, Howard Balzer of BalzerFootball.com reports.
The quarterback's skillset mimics that of Lamar Jackson's, so it appears that Christion was just a one-week rental for the Steelers to practice against last week.

Taryn Christion: Inks practice-squad deal
Christion signed with the Steelers' practice squad Wednesday.
The Steelers aren't worried about their current starter, Mason Rudolph, but they may be losing sleep about facing Lamar Jackson on Sunday. According to Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, coach Mike Tomlin wanted a quarterback who could mimic Jackson, and Christion fits the mold, as he ran a 4.49 second 40 at his pro day at South Dakota State.

Cowboys' Taryn Christion: Shows flashes in preseason finale
Christion completed 11 of 17 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown with one interception in Thursday's preseason loss to the Buccaneers.
He also ran the ball five times for a team-high 22 yards. Mike White got the start for the Cowboys but was ineffective yet again, leading the offense to only one field goal in the first half. Meanwhile, Jalen Guyton did most of the work on his fourth-quarter TD connection with Christion, but it still goes down on the latter's ledger. The undrafted rookie free is expected to wind up on the practice squad, but his performance this preseason might have been good enough to convince the team to let White go and stick with Christion as their No. 3 QB behind Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush.

Cowboys' Taryn Christion: Gets chance in Dallas
Christion signed a contract with the Cowboys on Wednesday, Rob Phillips of the team's official site reports.
Christion claims the opening on Dallas' roster created following the release of wideout Allen Hurns. The South Dakota State product originally signed with the Seahawks after being passed over in the 2019 NFL Draft, and will now provide competition for depth quarterbacks Cooper Rush and Mike White with the Cowboys.

Taryn Christion: Waived by Seahawks
Christion was waived by the Seahawks on Monday, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR reports.
Christion's stint in Seattle lasted less than a month, as the quarterback was waived to allegedly make room for veteran Geno Smith on the 90-man roster. The two-year starter in the FCS for South Dakota State will look to find another destination to land before the beginning of training camp this summer.

Taryn Christion: Heading to Seattle
The Seahawks are expected to sign Christion as an undrafted free agent, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
A two-year starter in the FCS for South Dakota State, Christion completed 57.9 percent of his passes for 3,020 yards and 32 touchdowns against eight interceptions in 13 games last season. With only Paxton Lynch on the roster behind Russell Wilson, Christion will certainly be a candidate to back up Wilson in 2019.
