Giants' Drew Lock: Likely to miss out on Week 15 start
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Lock is tending to a heel injury and is likely to cede starting quarterback duties to Tommy DeVito in Sunday's game against the Ravens, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Lock is in a walking boot and won't practice Wednesday, leaving DeVito to take all of the first-team reps as he prepares for what would be his second start of the season Sunday. When New York waived Daniel Jones in November, DeVito received the first chance to step in as the Giants' starter in a Week 12 loss to Tampa Bay, but DeVito suffered a forearm injury in that contest, which opened the door for Lock to start the past two games. Though Daboll said Monday that Lock would remain the starting quarterback if healthy, the 28-year-old looks like he'll have to miss at least one game after emerging from this past Sunday's 14-11 loss to the Saints with the heel issue. The Giants haven't yet discounted Lock from being available for the Week 15 contest, but assuming he's formally ruled out following the release of Friday's injury report, Tim Boyle likely will be elevated from the practice squad to serve as DeVito's backup against Baltimore.

Giants' Drew Lock: Sidelined for practice again
Head coach Brian Daboll said that Lock (heel/left elbow) won't participate in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Lock remains confined to a walking boot and has yet to log any practice reps so far this week, making it unlikely that he'll be available for Sunday's game against the Ravens. Daboll has already said that Tommy DeVito is on track to serve as the Giants' starting quarterback in Week 15, but the team could wait and see how Lock recovers from his heel injury over the next few days before determining if he's capable of handling backup duties. If the Giants end up ruling Lock out for Sunday's game, however, Tim Boyle would likely be elevated from the practice squad to serve as DeVito's backup.

Giants' Drew Lock: Needs MRI, still starter if healthy
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Monday that Lock (undisclosed) is undergoing an MRI but remains in line to start Sunday's game against the Ravens, as long as he's able to suit up, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Lock was sent for X-rays after New York's 14-11 loss to the Saints in Week 14, a contest in which he completed just 21 of 49 passes for 227 yards and an interception. He did, though, toss a two-point conversion and add 59 rushing yards on five carries. Daboll said Lock emerged from the loss with "a couple bumps and bruises," per Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic, so there seems to be optimism that he's avoided a more serious injury.

Giants' Drew Lock: Tough day against Saints
Lock (undisclosed) completed 21 of 49 passes for 227 yards and an interception in Sunday's 14-11 loss to New Orleans. He added 59 rushing yards on five carries and threw a two-point conversion.
While his passing numbers were poor overall, Lock did lead two drives in the fourth quarter that should have brought the Giants back from a 14-3 deficit and forced overtime. However, Graham Gano's 35-yard field-goal attempt with just 11 seconds left got blocked, sending New York to its eighth straight loss. Per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, Lock was sent for X-rays after the game, but it's unclear what he was being checked out for. It's also unclear if Lock will make a third straight start if he's healthy or if coach Brian Daboll will turn back to Tommy DeVito in Week 15 against the Ravens.

Giants' Drew Lock: Drawing another start
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said that Lock will start Sunday's game against the Saints, Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reports.
Lock will draw a second consecutive start Week 14, while Tommy DeVito (forearm) may be available for No. 2 duties depending on the extent of his practice activity leading up to Sunday's contest, per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News. Coming off a disappointing 27-20 loss to the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day in which he completed just 21 of 32 passes for 178 yards with no touchdowns and one interception (which was returned for a Dallas touchdown), Lock will need to perform better this week to have a chance at retaining the No. 1 role once DeVito is fully healthy.
