Simpson (back) is expected to be sidelined for "a week or two," Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
It doesn't sound like a long-term issue for the veteran left guard. Simpson signed a two-year deal with the Jets last offseason and started all 17 regular-season games for the team in 2024.

Jets' John Simpson: Past illness
Simpson (illness) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Dolphins.
The 27-year-old popped up on the Jets' injury report Thursday as a non-participant in practice due to an illness. He then returned to practice in a full capacity Friday, suggesting he's moved past his illness in time to play in Sunday's divisional matchup. Expect Simpson to serve as Jets' top left guard in Week 14.

Simpson (groin) is doubtful to return to Thursday's contest against the Texans.
Simpson suffered a groin injury in the first half and his night now appears to be done. In his absence, Alec Lindstrom is a candidate to see an increase in workload on the offensive line.
