Khalid Kareem: Free to sign elsewhere

The settlement gives Kareem a chance to play in 2024 if he lands with another team. The defensive end appeared in one game and on 24 defensive snaps for Chicago in 2023, recording one tackle and a pass defensed.

Khalid Kareem: Let go by Chicago
The Bears waived Kareem on Tuesday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
The move corresponds with the Bears acquiring Montez Sweat from the Commanders on Tuesday in exchange for a second-round pick. Kareem had just been activated off the Bears' injured reserve on Oct. 28 and played Sunday night against the Chargers when he was on the field for 24 defensive snaps and registered a solo tackle. Kareem will have the chance to explore his next options should he clear waivers.

Bears' Khalid Kareem: Set to play Sunday
The Bears activated Kareem (hip) from their injured reserve list Saturday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Kareem did not suit up for the first two games of the season before picking up a hip injury ahead of the Bears' Week 3 matchup against the Chiefs. He was placed on IR on Sept. 25 and is now set to make his 2023 debut Sunday against the Chargers. His last full season came in his rookie year in 2020 with the Bengals, when he registered 19 tackles including one sack in 16 games.

Cincinnati added Kareem (hamstring) from its injured reserve list to its active roster Monday, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Kareem had to miss the first five games of the season as he tended to a hamstring injury, but it now appears he could return as soon as Week 6 at New Orleans. As long as Sam Hubbard and Trey Hendrickson remain healthy though, Kareem will be relegated to a rotational role.

Kareem was forced to miss the first four games of the season after starting the campaign on IR due to a hamstring injury he suffered during the team's second preseason contest.
