Broncos' Lil'Jordan Humphrey: Goes back to practice squad
Humphrey reverted to the Broncos' practice squad Monday.
Like he was before the Broncos' season-opening loss at Seattle, Humphrey was elevated prior to the team's Week 2 game, but he played a far bigger role. His snap share increased from 30 to 77 percent, and he hauled in four of five targets for 50 yards as a result. The increased workload for Humphrey may have been spurred by the absence of rookie wideout Devaughn Vele (ribs), but in any case the former seems poised to be a regular in three-receiver sets along with Courtland Sutton and Josh Reynolds for as long as Vele is sidelined.

Broncos' Lil'Jordan Humphrey: Moves back to active roster
Humphrey was elevated from the Broncos' practice squad Saturday, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.
Humphrey was also called up to the active roster in Week 1, playing 21 snaps on offense and unable to reel in his lone target. With Devaughn Vele (ribs) out of action for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Humphrey may find himself with extra opportunities in the Week 2 matchup.

Humphrey played 21 offensive snaps during the Broncos' loss at Seattle in Week 1, but he drew just one target, which fell incomplete. Given his healthy involvement in the offense, there's a decent chance he'll get called on to suit up again in Week 2.

Humphrey appeared in all 17 regular-season games for Denver last season, but he only secured 13 catches on 19 targets for 162 yards and three touchdowns. However, it was enough to be brought back on a one-year deal. Even though wasn't able to secure a spot on the 53-man roster, he'll now have the opportunity to work his way back there.

Humphrey re-signed with the Broncos in March after compiling 162 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 13 catches over 17 games with the team in 2023, but he'll now look for another opportunity elsewhere. He has appeared in at least three contests in each of the last five NFL seasons and will likely find a new suitor in the near future.

Broncos' Lil'Jordan Humphrey: Back with Denver on one-year deal
Humphrey is re-signing with the Broncos on a one-year contract, Nick Kosmider of The Athletic reports.
Humphrey had 162 receiving yards and three touchdowns with Denver in 2023. He could have an opportunity to climb the depth chart after the Broncos traded Jerry Jeudy to Cleveland on Saturday, though Humphrey has yet to reach 250 receiving yards in a season since debuting with the Saints in 2019.

Humphrey ended the 2023 season with 13 receptions on 19 targets for 162 yards and three touchdowns.
In his first year with the Broncos, Humphrey played in all 17 games despite moving between Denver's practice squad and active roster throughout the season. The veteran wideout wasn't used much as an offensive weapon, but he was still able to finish the season tied with tight end Adam Trautman for the third-most scores among all Broncos pass catchers. Humphrey is set to become a free agent this offseason, so the 25-year-old could find himself in a new locale when the 2024 campaign begins. If he signs back with Denver, he'll likely find it difficult to see consistent playing time behind fellow wideouts Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy and Marvin Mims.

Broncos' Lil'Jordan Humphrey: Incredible individual effort for TD
Humphrey caught two of four targets for 69 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 16-9 win over the Chargers.
Humphrey made the play of the game in the second quarter when he took a short pass from Jarrett Stidham and proceeded to juke and jive his way past several certain tackle opportunities before extending the ball past the goal line for a 54-yard touchdown. It was the only touchdown either team would record Sunday. It would have also counted as the game-winning score in hockey after the wideout's incredible play gave Denver a lead it would never surrender. While Humphrey had the best game out of any receiver, it is important to point out that his four targets finished third for the Broncos behind starters Jerry Jeudy and Brandon Johnson. Perhaps Humphrey's impressive catch and run will earn him more snaps and targets when the Broncos visit the Raiders in Week 18.

Broncos' Lil'Jordan Humphrey: Plays more than Mims again
Humphrey logged 38 of the Broncos' 67 snaps on offense and hauled in his lone target for a 12-yard reception in Sunday's 24-7 win over the Chargers.
For the second week in a row, Humphrey worked as the Broncos' No. 3 receiver ahead of rookie Marvin Mims, taking on a 57 percent snap share to Mims' 37 percent. Though his playing time appears to be on the rise, Humphrey is typically little more than a tertiary option in the passing game while he often shares the field with Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy and Javonte Williams. Humphrey has drawn exactly one target in five straight contests.
