Titans' Jeffery Simmons: Sacks Maye in Week 9
Simmons finished Sunday's 20-17 overtime win over the Patriots with five tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one fumble recovery.
Simmons sacked Drake Maye for a seven-yard loss on the first play of the fourth quarter, which led the Patriots to punt two plays later. Later in the frame, Simmons jumped on a live ball forced by Arden Key while sacking Maye, which put the Titans in Patriots' territory and led to a six-yard touchdown pass from Mason Rudolph to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine five plays later. Simmons has logged a sack in consecutive games, and through seven regular-season contests, he's registered 15 tackles (11 solo), including 3.0 sacks, one pass breakup, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Titans' Jeffery Simmons: Ready for return
Simmons (elbow) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Ben Arthur of FoxSports.com reports.
Simmons was dealing with a UCL injury before the Titans' Week 5 bye but it appears the time off has done him well. After missing their Week 4 win over the Dolphins, the Mississippi State product should be back on the field Sunday against the Colts.

Titans' Jeffery Simmons: Dealing with Tommy John injury
Simmons told reporters Tuesday that he has a Tommy John ligament tear in his left elbow, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
A ligament injury in a baseball pitcher's throwing elbow would normally lead to Tommy John surgery and a lengthy recovery timeline, but Simmons relayed Tuesday that he does not require a procedure at this time. He was seen in street clothes with a large brace on his left elbow during the Titans' 31-12 win over the Dolphins on Monday. Tennessee is on a bye in Week 5, and Simmons' goal is to continue to work with trainers to gain full extension in his left arm. The 2019 first-round pick said he expects to return for Week 6 against the Colts on Oct. 13. Simmons has logged 12 tackles (six solo), including 1.0 sacks, across three regular-season games this year.

Titans' Jeffery Simmons: Getting better
Simmons (elbow) is feeling much better Tuesday, after resting last week and sitting out the Titans' win over the Dolphins on Monday, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.
Simmons suffered the injury during Week 4's loss to the Packers and has remained sidelined since. The Mississippi State product told McCormick the injury was UCL-related and the recommendation was rest, not surgery, which seems to have worked thus far. With Tennesse having a Week 5 bye, Simmons will have until Sunday, Oct. 13 to continue his recovery before having the chance to play again.

Titans' Jeffery Simmons: Won't play Monday
Simmons (elbow) is inactive for Monday night's game against the Dolphins.
Simmons, who was doubtful for the contest, will now target a possible return to action Sunday, Oct. 13 against the Colts following the Titans' Week 5 bye. In three games to date, Simmons has logged 12 tackles, including 1.0 sacks, with his absence Monday representing a hit to Tennessee's Week 4 defensive line.

Titans' Jeffery Simmons: Listed as doubtful vs. Miami
Simmons (elbow) did not practice Saturday and has been tagged as doubtful for Monday's game against the Dolphins, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports.
Simmons injured his elbow during the Titans' Week 3 loss against the Packers. The injury has been severe enough for him to miss all three practices this week, and it appears unlikely that the 2019 first-round pick will suit up Monday. Keondre Coburn is the most likely candidate to see more snaps on the Titans' defensive line alongside starters T'Vondre Sweat and Sebastian Joseph-Day.

Coach Brian Callahan labeled Simmons as "day to day," Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Through three games this season, Simmons has 11 tackles (six solo), including 1.0 sacks. The Titans will release their final injury report Saturday, as they face the Dolphins on Monday night.
