  • Aaron Hansford: Headed to waivers

Dallas waived Hansford without an injury designation Wednesday.

Hansford was always unlikely to make the team as a rookie UDFA considering the Cowboys added fellow linebackers Damone Clark and Devin Harper in this year's draft. The fact that he passed his physical prior to being waived means he'll become a free agent if he's not claimed during the current waiver period.

  • Cowboys' Aaron Hansford: Moved to PUP list

The Cowboys placed Hansford (calf) on the active/physically unable to perform list Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Hansford will continue to count against Dallas' 90-man roster while on this list in the preseason, but he is still eligible to return and participate at any point before the team's Aug. 30 cutdown date. Otherwise, the rookie linebacker will be forced to miss the first four games of the regular season.

  • Cowboys' Aaron Hansford: Placed on active/PUP list

Hansford (calf) was placed on the active/PUP list Wednesday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Hansford joined the Cowboys this spring as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M. Once healthy, he'll try to earn a spot in Dallas' linebacker corps.
