Cowboys' Tyler Coyle: Competing for safety role
Coyle, who suffered an MCL sprain at the end of last season, will be battling for a safety role during OTAs, Nick Harris of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Presumably past the injury he sustained in Week 18 against the Commanders, Coyle will have his work cut out for him as he looks to stick with the main roster. The Cowboys' safety room is dominated by the trio of Donovan Wilson, Malik Hooker and Jayron Kearse. The report notes that Coyle's biggest competition for a final roster spot will be against Markquese Bell.

Tyler Coyle: Suffers MCL sprain
Coyle suffered an MCL sprain in practice Thursday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Coyle made his season debut at nickel cornerback for Dallas in Week 18. The safety was dealt rough news Thursday, as he'll miss the next 2-to-4 weeks while he recovers from the MCL sprain.

Cowboys' Tyler Coyle: Lands futures deal
Coyle was signed to a reserve/future deal with the Cowboys on Monday.
Coyle spent the majority of the season on the Cowboys' practice squad. He did, however, get a shot with the active roster in Week 13 against the Saints and Week 18 against the Eagles. Between the two contests, Coyle secured two tackles (one solo). He'll now look to carve out a bigger role for himself next season.
