Saints' David Long: Moves to IR
The Saints placed Long (undisclosed) on injured reserve Sunday.
Long was previously on the Giants' IR but reached an injury settlement in mid-August and subsequently signed with New Orleans. He logged four tackles in his lone preseason appearance but is now sidelined with an undisclosed issue. Long will need to miss the entire campaign while on injured reserve unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Saints.

The 28-year-old should suit up for Friday's preseason finale against the Cowboys alongside fellow newly signed cornerback Michael Davis. Long was waived with an injury settlement from the Giants on Aug. 13. The cornerback seemingly is healthy after an undisclosed injury and is all set to try to make another 53-man roster. The Saints appear to be looking at additional preseason cornerback depth, trying out Michael Davis on Tuesday as well.

The Colts re-signed Long on Monday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Long will remain in Indianapolis after splitting time between the team's practice squad and active roster in 2024. He appeared in 13 games but recorded no stats, playing almost exclusively on special teams (106 of 113 total snaps on special teams). The 27-year-old from Michigan is expected to compete for a depth spot in the Colts secondary while also contributing on special teams throughout the offseason program.
