Elliot re-signed with the Lions in March and appeared in eight games for the franchise last season, making 12 tackles. He'll now work to earn another shot in Detroit or elsewhere for the 2022 campaign.

The Lions activated Elliott off of their reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Elliott has cleared the league's health and safety protocols, and will be eligible to return to the team. The safety will return to his strong safety reserve role behind Will Harris.

The 22-year-old was placed on the practice squad COVID-19 list last week, but he's cleared the league's virus-related protocols. Elliott joined the Lions as a UDFA out of Notre Dame in the spring and is still looking to make his NFL debut.

The 22-year-old rookie out of Notre Dame has yet to make his NFL debut, though this prevents him from a potential promotion to the active roster heading into Detroit's Week 9 matchup against the Vikings. Elliott's stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list lasted two weeks when he was on it in August.
