  • Eagles' Andrew Mukuba: Returns for OTAs

Mukuba (ankle) participated in Philadelphia's OTAs on Wednesday, Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports. Mukuba missed Philadelphia's last seven games (including playoffs) of the 2025 season due to an ankle injury, but it now appears he's recovered from the issue. Prior to picking up the injury, the 2025 second-round pick from Texas had emerged as a crucial part of the Eagles' secondary, recording 46 total tackles, including 0.5 sacks, and three passes defensed, with two interceptions, across 11 appearances. He's expected to operate as the team's top free safety during the 2026 campaign.

  • Eagles' Andrew Mukuba: Finishes rookie season on IR

Mukuba (ankle) played in 11 regular-season games (10 starts) during the 2025 campaign, posting 46 tackles (including 0.5 sacks) and three defensed passes (including two interceptions). Mukuba was selected in the second round of last April's NFL Draft and took on a big role right away as a rookie. He notched his first pickoff in his second game and logged a defensive snap share of at least 80 percent in 10 of the 11 contests in which he appeared. However, Mukuba fractured his right ankle in late November and subsequently underwent surgery, marking an end to his season. Mukuba should be ready for the beginning of the 2026 campaign and figures to reclaim his starting role in Philadelphia's secondary.

  • Eagles' Andrew Mukuba: Lands on injured reserve

The Eagles placed Mukuba (ankle) on injured reserve Wednesday, Chris McPherson of the team's official site reports. Mukuba fractured his right ankle during the Eagles' 24-21 overtime loss to the Cowboys this past Sunday. His placement on IR means he'll be forced to miss at least the next four games, though considering he's undergoing surgery, it's unclear whether he'll be available to return this season, even if the Eagles qualify for the playoffs. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio told reporters Wednesday that Sydney Brown is slated to start at safety alongside Reed Blankenship (thigh) in Mukuba's absence.

  • Eagles' Andrew Mukuba: Suffers injury late

Mukuba appeared to injure his right leg in the fourth quarter of the Eagles' 24-21 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports. Mukuba appeared to suffer the injury while making a tackle on George Pickens within the final minute of the fourth quarter, and the injury was severe enough for the former to be carted to the locker room. Mukuba will undergo further tests to evaluate the severity of the injury, but the rookie second-rounder is facing an uphill battle to play on a shortened week, as the Eagles' next game takes place Friday against the Bears. Reed Blankenship (thigh) also left Sunday's game due to an injury, and with Marcus Epps (undisclosed) on injured reserve, Sydney Brown could emerge into a starting role at safety.

  • Eagles' Andrew Mukuba: Finishes with two tackles

Mukuba recorded two tackles (one solo) in Sunday's 38-20 win over the Giants. It was the rookie safety's least productive game from a tackle standpoint, though he still played on 87 percent of the defensive snaps. Mukuba has been on the field for at least 74 percent of Philadelphia's defensive snaps in every game this season. He has 37 tackles (21 solo), including 0.5 sacks, and three pass breakups, including two interceptions, on the year.

  • Eagles' Andrew Mukuba: Tallies seven stops

Mukuba recorded seven tackles (three solo) with one pass defensed in Thursday's 34-17 loss to the Giants. Mukuba led the Eagles' defense with 66 defensive snaps, a 96 percent clip. That was enough for him to log a season-high seven tackles, although only three were solo. Mukuba should have the chance to make an increased impact as his rookie season continues.

  • Eagles' Andrew Mukuba: Registers six stops vs. Denver

Mukuba logged six tackles (four solo) during the Eagles' 21-17 loss to the Broncos on Sunday. For a second straight game, the rookie second-rounder posted six stops while playing every single defensive snap. Mukuba is now up to 25 tackles (16 solo) and one interception through the first five regular-season games of his NFL career.

  • Eagles' Andrew Mukuba: Nabs first career interception

Mukuba recorded six total tackles (five solo), including 0.5 sacks, and one interception in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Chiefs. The 2025 second-round pick from Texas appears to be emerging as another defensive star for the Eagles, having now recorded 10 total tackles, including 0.5 sacks, and one interception through his first two NFL games. Mukuba has been on the field for 91 of the Philadelphia's 113 defensive snaps this season, so it appears he's already established himself as one of the team's top safeties. The 22-year-old will look to build on his strong start when the Eagles face the Rams in Week 3.

  • Eagles' Andrew Mukuba: Returns to practice Sunday

Mukuba (hamstring) is suited up for practice Sunday, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports. Mukuba missed practice at the end of the week due to a hamstring issue, but the injury doesn't appear to be serious. While Mukuba is present and in uniform Sunday, it's not yet clear if he'll be limited at all during the session. The rookie second-round pick is slated for a rotational role at safety in his first NFL campaign.

  • Eagles' Andrew Mukuba: Nursing shoulder injury

Mukuba did not participate in Monday's practice due to a shoulder injury, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Mukuba may have picked up the injury during Saturday's practice, when he collided with Danny Gray in team drills. The severity of the injury hasn't been announced, but Mukuba will be limited to sideline work until he's fully recovered from his injury, which could impact his availability for the Eagles' preseason opener against the Bengals on Aug. 7. The rookie second-rounder is projected to start at safety alongside Reed Blankenship, so Mukuba's absence opens the door for Tristin McCollum and Sydney Brown to get more reps with the first-team defense.
