Jets' Sam Scott: Let go with injury settlement
The Jets waived Scott (undisclosed) with an injury settlement Tuesday.
Scott cleared waivers before reverting to the Jets' injured reserve list and is now a free agent. The former linebacker can now seek out new teams to help out offensively, defensively or most likely on special teams as soon as he regains his health.

Jets' Sam Scott: Moved to injured reserve
Scott (undisclosed) reverted to the Jets' injured reserve Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Scott was waived with an injury designation Sunday and did not get claimed by another team. As such, Scott has moved to the Jets' IR and will be required to sit for the entire 2026 season unless an injury settlement is reached.

Sam Scott: Waived/injured by New York
The Jets waived/injured Scott (undisclosed) on Sunday.
Scott will now be placed on waivers, and if he clears, will revert to the Jets' injured reserve list. If he reverts to IR, the undrafted free agent out of Wyoming will miss the entirety of the 2026 regular season unless he is waived with an injury settlement. Scott has also played snaps at linebacker, so if he desires a shot at free agency, he could provide a versatile special teams presence for any team in need.
