Bills' Keon Coleman: Banged up after scoring TD
Coleman appeared to suffer a lower body injury during Saturday's 29-14 preseason win over the Panthers, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Coleman got the start alongside DJ Moore (ankle) and Khalil Shakir, with all three receivers making major contributions. Coleman scored a touchdown to cap off Buffalo's second drive, but he continued playing on the third series with mostly backups until an injury sent him limping off. Coach Joe Brady said both Moore and Coleman should be fine, but Brady did acknowledge that the wide receivers will require further evaluation from the medical team, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.

Bills' Keon Coleman: Listed as starter on unofficial depth chart
Coleman is listed as a starter on Buffalo's first depth chart of the preseason, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.
The Bills list 12 starters, including three WRs, with the others unsurprisingly being DJ Moore and and Khalil Shakir. While it isn't a bad sign to be listed as a starter on the unofficial depth chart, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News believes Joshua Palmer has the upper hand on Coleman in a competition for the No. 3 receiver spot. Palmer reportedly shined Tuesday in one of the final practices before Buffalo's preseason opener Saturday against Carolina.

Bills' Keon Coleman: Impressing new head coach
Coleman has impressed Buffalo's coaching staff with his offseason preparation and performance at minicamp, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Coleman received mentorship from former Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson during the offseason, trying to add intangibles to the 2024 second-round pick's impressive frame (6-foot-3, 213 pounds). New head coach Joe Brady praised Coleman during Buffalo's mandatory minicamp in June. "It's the consistency and the routine and everything he's doing, but handling everything like a pro," Brady said of Coleman. "He's positioned himself in a great place and just got to continue to build on that." Coleman is jostling for depth-chart positioning in a Bills wide receiver room that also includes DJ Moore, Khalil Shakir, Joshua Palmer and Skyler Bell.

Bills' Keon Coleman: Turns in strong minicamp
According to Nick Wojton of USA TODAY, Coleman "had some big efforts" during team drills at the Bills' recent minicamp.
Per Wojton, Coleman, whose fantasy impact has been modest since being drafted in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, was able to take advantage of Joshua Palmer (ankle) missing time at Buffalo's minicamp. As the coming season approaches, DJ Moore and Khalil Shakir top the Bills' WR depth chart, but as Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic previously noted, the team likely wants Coleman to seize the WR3 role in his third season. To do that, however, he'll have to outperform Palmer, Tyrell Shavers (knee) and rookie fourth-rounder Skyler Bell this summer.

Bills' Keon Coleman: Has Joe Brady's support
Bills head coach Joe Brady said Tuesday that he advocated for Coleman this offseason and expects him to "be a part of our offense" in 2026, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.
"I made sure when I got the job, [Coleman] knew he was going to be here and be a part of our offense," said Brady. It's safe to assume Coleman's presence in Buffalo wasn't a sticking point in negotiations when Brady was promoted from offensive coordinator to head coach. Coleman turned 23 on May 17, making him younger than many rookies in the incoming class, but he frankly hasn't shown much on the field to hint at living up to his draft capital (33rd overall in 2024). Bills GM Brandon Beane said in April that he refuted trade offers and now wants to "hit the reset button" on Coleman, who notoriously had a rocky relationship with former head coach Sean McDermott. While Brady called plays for most of those games in which Coleman failed to make an impact, Brady sounds open to letting the 23-year-old compete for a top-three job at wide receiver again. If not Coleman, the Bills have fourth-round pick Skyler Bell and sixth-year pro Joshua Palmer (ankle) as the top candidates for WR snaps behind newcomer DJ Moore and slot specialist Khalil Shakir.

Bills' Keon Coleman: Garners support from front office
Bills GM Brandon Beane said Monday that the team has "hit the reset button" with Coleman and "thinks his best year is yet to come" during the 2026 season, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Beane said more than one team approached the Bills about Coleman's availability via trade, but Buffalo "shut those down," according to the general manager. "Our intention is for Keon to be here," Beane continued. Coleman was the subject of criticism following the Bills' early dismissal from the playoffs and subsequent firing of coach Sean McDermott, but it sounds like Buffalo is sticking by the soon-to-be 23-year-old wideout. The first pick of the second round in the 2024 Draft, Coleman has appeared in 26 regular-season games to date, amassing 67 catches for 960 yards and eight touchdowns. He's made 18 starts and figures to push Joshua Palmer (ankle) for a role in three-wide sets alongside Khalil Shakir and trade pickup DJ Moore this coming season.
