Mabin was signed by the Panthers on Thursday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Mabin will head to Carolina after spending the past two years in Tennessee, where he logged 23 tackles (19 solo) in 11 games played. The 28-year-old will now spend the rest of the summer competing for a roster spot. He can bring value both as a reserve defender and on special teams.

Titans' Greg Mabin: Returns to practice
Mabin (undisclosed) was an active participant during the Titans' second day of minicamp earlier this June, Mike Moraitis of USA Today reports.
Mabin missed practice earlier in minicamp due to an undisclosed injury, but he appears to be healthy once again after working at cornerback during 7-on-7 drills. The 28-year-old re-signed with Tennessee in May and likely will compete for a roster spot during the team's training camp later this offseason.

Mabin (ankle) has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Texans, according to Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site.
Mabin has played in just two games this season and hasn't seen the field since Week 8, when he featured in 80 percent of the snaps during a 34-31 win over the Colts. Mabin will now miss a third straight game, and his next chance to feature will come Oct. 28 on the road against the Patriots.
