  • Younghoe Koo: Cut loose by Giants

The Giants waived Koo on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

After being cut by the Falcons following Week 1, Koo has now been booted off a team's roster for the second time this season following another erratic kicking performance. In Sunday's 29-21 loss to the Commanders, Koo knocked down all three of his point-after tries but failed to connect on field goals from 52 and 51 yards, with both attempts missing by fair margins. Altogether, Koo missed three kicks (two field goals, one extra point) on 18 attempts during his five-game run as New York's kicker. The Giants are expected to elevate or sign Ben Sauls off the practice squad to take over as their new kicker beginning with this Sunday's game versus the Vikings.

  • Giants' Younghoe Koo: Misses both FGAs vs. Washington

Koo missed both of his field-goal attempts and went 3-for-3 on extra-point tries during the Giants' 29-21 loss to the Commanders on Sunday.

Both of Koo's field-goal attempts Sunday came from 50-plus yards and both missed to the left. It was Koo's first field-goal misses in five games with the Giants, and he's now 4-for-6 on field-goal attempts and 11-for-12 on extra-point tries with New York.

  • Giants' Younghoe Koo: Flubs potential FG attempt in loss

Koo made his only extra-point try and didn't technically attempt a field goal in Monday's Week 13 loss to the Patriots.

Koo was called upon to attempt a 46-yard field goal in the second quarter, but he stubbed his foot into the ground before making the contact with the ball, leaving holder Jamie Gillian out to dry on a play that went into the box score as a 13-yard loss rather than a FG try. That botched play was emblematic of the Giants performance as a whole in a game during which they were never competitive, and perhaps of the team's season as a whole, as New York has dealt with inexplicable mistakes and collapses multiple times en route to a 2-11 record. As for Koo, he's ironically still perfect on FG attempts since joining the Giants -- at least in official recordkeeping -- as he's gone 4-for-4 in that category along with 8-for-9 on PATs.

  • Giants' Younghoe Koo: Makes all five kicks in defeat

Koo converted both of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries in the Giants' 34-27 overtime loss to the Lions on Sunday.

Koo's field goals were good from 21 and 44 yards out, and he's now made all four field-goal tries and nine of 10 extra points in three games with the Giants. New York will travel to New England two Monday nights from now for a Week 13 date with the Patriots. New England has been stingy against kickers in fantasy this season.

  • Giants' Younghoe Koo: No FGAs in defeat

Koo did not attempt a field goal and went 2-for-3 on PATs in Sunday's 27-20 loss to Green Bay.

Koo went without a field-goal try in his second start with the Giants, and he did miss an extra-point attempt for the first time in three games this season. The kicker has now gone 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts while making four of five PATs over two contests with New York. With Graham Gano (neck) done for the year, Koo has a straightforward path to consistent work for the remainder of the season.

  • Giants' Younghoe Koo: Signed to active roster

The Giants signed Koo from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Making his first appearance since the Falcons released him after Week 1 this past Sunday in Chicago, Koo made both field-goal attempts and both point-after tries in place of Graham Gano, who was diagnosed with a herniated disc in his neck. New York placed Gano on injured reserve Wednesday, so Koo is lined up to be the team's primary placekicker for the foreseeable future. In addition to Koo, the Giants are still rostering kicker Jude McAtamney on the practice squad.
