Bears' Jaylon Johnson: Limited availability again
Johnson recorded five solo tackles in the Bears' 19-16 loss to the Lions on Sunday.
Johnson appeared in seven games and totaled 17 tackles, one interception and two passes defended while missing significant time for the fourth time in five seasons. His snap counts were limited for much of the year, and his career interception total sits at eight across six seasons. He is signed through 2027 and remains a low-floor, low-ceiling IDP.

Bears' Jaylon Johnson: Active against Philly
Johnson (groin) is active for Friday's game against the Eagles.
Johnson missed Week 1 with the same injury, returned in Week 2 only to aggravate the issue, and then required surgery. This will be just his second game of the season. The Chicago secondary is getting a massive boost with the returns of both Johnson and Kyler Gordon (calf) against Philadelphia.

Bears' Jaylon Johnson: Officially tagged as questionable
Johnson (groin) has been listed as questionable to play against the Eagles on Friday.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported earlier Thursday that Johnson was set to be activated, but for now, he's questionable. Johnson remains on injured reserve and would need to be activated by Thursday afternoon to have a chance to suit up. The cornerback missed all of training camp and the preseason with the groin injury, sat out Week 1, aggravated the injury in Week 2, had surgery in late September, and has been out ever since.

Bears' Jaylon Johnson: Comes off IR
Chicago activated Johnson (groin) off injured reserve Thursday, and he remains questionable for Friday's Week 13 game against the Eagles.
This seems to confirm reports that Johnson will return to action Friday, though he remains officially questionable. His final status may not be clarified until the Packers release their list of inactives about 90 minutes prior to Friday's 3:00 p.m. ET kickoff. If Johnson does indeed get clearance to play, he'll likely reclaim a starting role at cornerback.

Bears' Jaylon Johnson: In line to be activated
Johnson (groin) is set to be activated from injured reserve ahead of Friday's matchup with the Eagles, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The cornerback has logged four consecutive full practices going into the game, so he looks ready to go. Johnson missed all of training camp and the preseason with the groin injury, sat out Week 1, aggravated the injury in Week 2, had surgery in late September and has been out ever since. The sixth-year pro made the Pro Bowl the last two years and the All-Pro team in 2023.

Bears' Jaylon Johnson: Racking up full practices

Bears' Jaylon Johnson: Won't come off IR for Week 12
Johnson (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Steelers and will remain on IR for now.
Johnson hasn't played since Week 2 and underwent core-muscle surgery in late September. The veteran cornerback was designated to return from IR on Nov. 14, but he's not yet ready to return to game action. Johnson was able to practice in full both Thursday and Friday this week, so there appears to be a decent chance he'll be activated in time to play next Friday versus the Eagles.

Bears' Jaylon Johnson: Could return Sunday
Johnson (groin) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Steelers.
Johnson practiced in full both Thursday and Friday but must still be activated to the Bears' active roster in order to suit up in Week 12. He's an integral part of Chicago's defense, appearing in 17 games and recording 53 total tackles, eight passes defensed, including two interceptions, and one forced fumble in 2024. If Johnson returns Sunday, he'll likely operate as the Bears' top boundary corner.
