Dorian Etheridge: Signs with Falcons' practice squad
The Falcons signed Etheridge to their practice squad Tuesday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports.
Etheridge suffered an apparent knee injury during Atlanta's preseason finale against the Jaguars, causing the two parties to reach an injury settlement in early September. With the 230-pounder's return to the team's practice squad Tuesday, this suggests he's moved past the injury and is now in good health. Etheridge figures to provide emergency depth to the Falcons' linebacker corps should any of them miss time.

Falcons' Dorian Etheridge: Suffers apparent knee injury
Etheridge left Saturday's preseason finale versus Jacksonville on a cart after apparently injuring his knee, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reports.
The severity of the injury is unknown, and there's no timetable for Etheridge's return. He played exclusively on special teams as an undrafted rookie in 2021 and was looking to earn an expanded role headed into this regular season. For now, 2022 second-rounder Troy Andersen should see increased reps.

Etheridge (illness) was placed on the Falcons' practice squad COVID-19 list Monday and tested positive for the virus, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Etheridge has only contributed on special teams while with the active roster this season. However, with fellow linebackers Brandon Copeland and James Vaughters also on the COVID list, Etheridge could find his way to the active roster Sunday against Buffalo if he is able to clear protocols in time.
