49ers' Vederian Lowe: Heading to Bay Area
Lowe and the 49ers agreed to a two-year, $12 million contract Monday that includes $5.75 million guaranteed, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Lowe spent the majority of the 2025 season as a backup offensive lineman for the Patriots, though he started in four straight games from Week 13 to Week 17 due to the absence of Will Campbell (knee). Lowe will now head to San Francisco, where he's expected to serve as a backup option at offensive tackle behind Trent Williams and Colton McKivitz.

Patriots' Vederian Lowe: Stepping into starting role
Head coach Mike Vrabel told reporters Wednesday that Lowe will start at left tackle in place on the injured Will Campbell (knee), Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
With Campbell expected to be placed on the injured reserve list soon, Lowe will likely operate as the Patriots' starting left tackle for the remainder of the regular season. The fourth-year pro from Illinois is no stranger to the role, having started 21 games for New England between 2023 and 2024.

Patriots' Vederian Lowe: Activated from PUP list Monday
Lowe (undisclosed) was activated off the active/PUP list and took part in practice Monday, Tayloy Kyles of Patriots on CLNS reports.
Lowe worked as the third-string left tackle Monday behind rookie Will Campbell and Demontrey Jacobs. Lowe made 13 starts for New England in 2024, so he may just be getting brought along slowly in his return from injury. The offensive lineman will look to climb the depth chart in the preseason, which begins for the Patriots on Friday against the Commanders.

Patriots' Vederian Lowe: Moves to PUP list
The Patriots placed Lowe (undisclosed) on the active/PUP list Saturday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
It's not clear what type of issue Lowe is dealing with, but this move isn't necessarily an indication that he won't be ready for the start of the campaign, as players placed on the PUP list during the preseason can begin practicing and participating in games as soon as they are medically cleared.
