Daewood Davis: Dropped by Carolina
The Panthers waived Davis (thigh) with an injury designation Wednesday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Davis was picked up by the Panthers in June after impressing with a 41-446-5 receiving line with the UFL's Memphis Showboats earlier in the spring, but Carolina has now decided to part ways with the 25-year-old. If Davis clears waivers, he could revert to the Panthers' injured reserve and miss all of 2024 unless the two parties agree to an injury settlement.

Davis went down with a thigh injury at Monday's practice, Sheena Quick of Fox Sports reports.
The undrafted wide receiver out of Western Kentucky, who posted an impressive 41-446-5 line with the UFL's Memphis Showboats this past spring, signed with Carolina earlier this summer after missing all of 2023 with a concussion, and it now appears that he's dealing with another injury. There's no word on the severity of Davis' injury at the moment, but this could definitely hurt the 25-year-old's chances of making Carolina's 53-man roster.
