The Steelers signed Lovett on Monday, Alex Kozora of the Steelers Depot reports.

Lovett spent part of his rookie season on Carolina's practice squad and will now head to Pittsburgh to replace the injured Alfonzo Graham (shoulder). Though it's unlikely that the 23-year-old Lovett makes the final team, he can still compete for a spot on the practice squad.

After garnering small roles in the first two exhibition games, Lovett finished with team highs in rushing attempts (14), rushing yards (35), receptions (four) and receiving yards (36). However, he couldn't parlay his strong performance into a spot on the team's initial 53-man roster.
