The Falcons waived Thompson (undisclosed) from injured reserve Thursday with an injury settlement, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Thompson was waived with an injury designation by the Falcons in late August, and he reverted to IR after clearing waivers. He was set to miss the entire 2024 season, but the injury settlement allows Thompson to sign with another team once he is fully recovered from his injury.

Thompson spent the first half of training camp on the active/non-football illness list. After returning, he began competing for a depth safety role with the club. Now that he has reached an injury settlement, the 24-year-old will be free to play again this season.
