Colts' A.J. Haulcy: Leads Colts in tackles in Week 7
Haulcy produced nine tackles (five solo) in a loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
The game was mostly centered on defense, and Haulcy helped Indianapolis hang close with a team-leading nine stops. That was a season-best mark for the rookie safety, who has take on a starting role in his debut NFL campaign. Haulcy has logged 36 tackles and two defensed passes through seven contests.

Colts' A.J. Haulcy: Full participant Thursday
Haulcy (ankle) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
The safety missed the Colts' last two preseason games but was able to practice on a limited basis Wednesday. Now that he's a full go in practice, Haulcy should be able to play Sunday against the Ravens. The third-round pick out of LSU is a projected starter at strong safety.

Colts' A.J. Haulcy: Absent from Tuesday's practice
Haulcy (ankle) did not participate in Tuesday's practice, Jake Arthur of Roundtable.io reports.
Haulcy missed the Colts' last two preseason games due to an ankle injury. The safety has not been given a return timeline, and it is unclear if he will be available for the team's Week 1 showdown with the Ravens. The rookie third-rounder out of LSU is set to be the Colts' starting strong safety. If Haulcy is unavailable for Week 1 or beyond, Hunter Wohler will likely take over the job.

Colts' A.J. Haulcy: Selected by Colts
The Colts selected Haulcy in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 78th overall.
This looks like a good pick for the Colts, who could use the likely upgrade at safety. Haulcy (6-feet, 215 pounds) is a throwback safety who's built to both inflict and withstand collisions, yet at no expense to his speed (4.52-second 40-yard dash). Haulcy was a standout true freshman starter at New Mexico in 2022 before transferring to Houston (2023-2024) and finally LSU (2025), defining the defenses he played for at each step. Haulcy should be a quality player both for the Colts and IDP investors.
