Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Bound for IR with high-ankle sprain
Love was diagnosed Tuesday with a right high-ankle sprain, which is expected to send him to injured reserve and keep him out for 4-to-5 weeks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
A left ankle issue had sidelined Love for the Cardinals' previous two games, but he ended up exiting Sunday's 33-30 overtime win over the Cowboys late in the first quarter after tweaking his opposite ankle. Though the No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft was cleared to play in advance of Week 1 after previously sustaining a right high-ankle sprain in the preseason, he won't be as fortunate this time around after injuring that ankle for the second time in less than three months. The projected 4-to-5-week recovery timeline will give Love a chance at returning to action when first eligible to play Dec. 6 against the Eagles, but at least for the next four games, Tyler Allgeier looks poised to serve as Arizona's lead back. The Cardinals could also look to bring James Conner (foot) back from IR at some point during that four-game stretch.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Dealing with 'new' ankle injury
Head coach Mike LaFleur said Monday that Love suffered a "new" ankle injury during Sunday's overtime win at Dallas, and that he'll have an update on the running back later this week, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Prior to having his right ankle rolled up on while getting tackled Sunday, Love was dealing with a left ankle issue, so this is a bit of a non-update from LaFleur. Having said that, LaFleur's last comment indicates that he may touch on the nature of Love's injury and also its prognosis in the near future. Fellow RB Bam Knight has entered the concussion protocol in the wake of Week 8 action, leaving Tyler Allgeier as the unquestioned healthy lead back for the Cardinals at the moment.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Not returning to Sunday's contest
Love (ankle) was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys to begin the second half, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Love had sat out the Cardinals' prior two contests due to a left ankle injury, but he appeared to tweak the opposite ankle on a carry late in the first quarter of Sunday's game. After a brief visit to the medical tent on the Arizona sideline, Love retreated to the locker room, where he remained to begin the third quarter before the Cardinals ruled him out. Prior to his departure, Love carried nine times for 23 yards and didn't draw any targets. His status will warrant monitoring leading up to the Cardinals' Week 9 game against the Seahawks on Nov. 8.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Officially has ankle injury
Love (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's game at Dallas, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
Love missed the previous two contests due to a left ankle injury, but after having his right ankle rolled up on in the second quarter Sunday, he visited the medical tent and then the locker room before the Cardinals clarified the nature of his injury. For as long as Love is off the field, Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight will man Arizona's backfield.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Leaves for locker room Sunday
Love headed into the locker room during the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Cowboys to be further evaluated for an apparent lower-body injury, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Love had been sidelined for the Cardinals' previous two games due to a left ankle injury, but he appeared to check out of Sunday's contest after taking a hit to his right ankle/leg in the final minute of the first quarter. The Cardinals will examine him more thoroughly in the locker room before providing an update on the nature of his injury as well as his status for the remainder of the contest. Love carried nine times for 23 yards prior to departing.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Goes to sideline Sunday
Love (undisclosed) went to the sideline during Sunday's contest in Dallas, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Love appeared to get his right ankle rolled up on in the second quarter and remained on the turf for a spell before jogging to the sideline and going into the medical tent. He's been dealing with a left ankle injury that sidelined him the last two games, so this appears to be a new health concern.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Ready to return in Week 8
Love (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game at Dallas, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Head coach Mike LaFleur told Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site Friday that Love was expected to play in Week 8, and the running back's lack of designation confirms as much. After opening the week with back-to-back limited listings, Love capped it with a full session Friday, indicating that he's ready for close to a normal workload Sunday after a two-game absence. Speaking of the time off, Love relayed to Urban that "two weeks for anybody will get people feeling how they want to feel." As a result, Love will rejoin a backfield that previously was a near-even split between Tyler Allgeier (toe) and Bam Knight the last two weeks.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: In line to play Sunday
Coach Mike LaFleur said Friday that Love (ankle) is expected to play in Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
In his return to drills this week following a two-game absence, Love has managed a pair of limited practices as he seeks to put an ankle injury behind him. It's unclear if Love will enter the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game at Dallas, something that'll be revealed on Friday's practice report. As for the rest of Arizona's backfield, Tyler Allgeier is tending to a toe issue, leaving just Bam Knight as a healthy option at the position.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Another limited session
Love (ankle) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
Love maintained his activity level from Wednesday, which followed two weeks off due to a lingering ankle injury. Head coach Mike LaFleur hasn't indicated if Love actually has a chance to return to action Sunday at Dallas, but Friday's practice report will reveal his chances to do so.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Will be limited Wednesday
Head coach Mike LaFleur said Love (ankle) will practice in a limited fashion Wednesday, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports.
This doesn't come as a surprise, as LaFleur told Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic on Monday that Love was slated to practice Wednesday. Now that Love's activity level is known, he'll have two more chances to get back to full this week before the Cardinals potentially make a ruling on his status ahead of Sunday's game at Dallas. Love has missed the last two games due to a lingering ankle injury, which has allowed Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight to split the backfield reps during that span.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Set to practice Wednesday
Head coach Mike LaFleur said Monday that Love (ankle) will take part in Wednesday's practice, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
Love has missed the last two games due to a lingering ankle issue, which allowed Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight to split backfield reps during that span. More likely than not, Love will need to string together multiple practices in a row to put himself in a position to return to action this coming Sunday at Dallas.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Out again in Week 7
Head coach Mike LaFleur said Friday that Love (ankle) won't play Sunday against the Broncos, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Love thus will miss a second consecutive contest as he tends to a lingering ankle injury. With Love again sidelined, Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight will man Arizona's backfield, as they did during last Sunday's win at the Rams. In that contest, Allgeier out-snapped Knight, 40-32, but the latter had 17 touches for 98 yards from scrimmage, while the former recorded 19 touches for just 48 total yards. Love's next chance for game action is Sunday, Nov. 1, in Dallas.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Remains DNP on Thursday
Love (ankle) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Love has logged back-to-back DNPs to begin the practice week and appears well on his way to missing a second straight contest Sunday against the Broncos. With Love sidelined for Week 6 against the Rams, Tyler Allgeier narrowly out-snapped Bam Knight 40 to 32, but it was Knight who was far more effective in the box score. While Allgeier out-carried him 15 to 13, Knight picked up 80 rushing yards to Allgeier's 38. Knight added two catches for 18 yards on two targets and would be a worthwhile RB2/flex option in fantasy if Love does miss Sunday's game.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Works on side Thursday
Love (ankle) worked on the side with trainers during the open portion of Thursday's practice, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Love was listed as a non-participant Wednesday and could be headed for the same fate Thursday, unless he's able to take part in drills later in Thursday's practice. Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reported earlier Thursday that Love will likely miss Sunday's game against the Broncos, and Love working on a side field Thursday has done nothing to dispel that notion. Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight are poised to lead Arizona's backfield again.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Probably sitting again Week 7
The Cardinals expect to remain without Love (ankle) for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reports Thursday.
Love didn't practice Wednesday after sitting out this past Sunday's win over the Rams. He still has two more opportunities to resume practicing and give himself a chance to return Sunday against the Broncos, but the Cardinals are pessimistic regarding the rookie third overall pick's availability. If Love misses a second consecutive game, Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight would be in line for additional opportunities against a Denver run defense that has been surprisingly weak this season.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Not practicing Wednesday
Love (ankle) will not practice Wednesday, per Dani Sureck of the Cardinals' official site.
Love is working his way back from an ankle injury that kept him out for Week 6 but is still not ready to ramp up to practice participation. He'll have a chance to get back in the mix Thursday or Friday but if Love is unable to do so, it'll be a mix of Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight on Sunday against the Broncos.
