Chargers' Trey Marshall: Activated from COVID-19 list
The Chargers activated Marshall (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.
Marshall was unavailable in Week 16 after he was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. However, he'll likely return to the field for Sunday's matchup against the Broncos.

Chargers' Trey Marshall: Moves to reserve/COVID-19 list
The Chargers placed Marshall on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.
According to Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times, head coach Brandon Staley labeled Marshall as day-to-day, which would seem to suggest that the 25-year-old safety is on the list as a vaccinated player that tested positive for the virus. Per the NFL's new COVID-19 protocols, Marshall will be eligible to rejoin the team as soon as he's deemed to be asymptomatic. Marshall thus has an outside shot of gaining clearance prior to Sunday's game against the Texans. He's appeared in 12 games to date this season, recording 19 tackles.

Chargers' Trey Marshall: Full participant in practice
Marshall (ankle) was a full participant in practice Thursday.
After spending most of training camp with Denver dealing with an ankle injury, Marshall failed to make the Broncos roster and eventually signed with the Chargers. The safety was forced to miss L.A.'s season opener against Washington as his ankle issue was still bothering him. Now it seems that the injury is mostly cleared up, and Marshall should be able to make his season debut Sunday against the Cowboys.

Chargers' Trey Marshall: Won't play Week 1
The Chargers listed Marshall (ankle) as out for Sunday's season opener against Washington.
While with Denver during training camp, Marshall injured his ankle during a preseason contest and failed to make the initial 53-man roster. He was scooped up by the Chargers, but it appears that his ankle remains an issue.

Trey Marshall: Let go by Denver
The Broncos waived Marshall (ankle) on Tuesday, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports.
Marshall spent the latter portion of training camp dealing with an ankle injury, so it's no surprise to see him fail to stick on the initial 53-man roster. He appeared in 30 games with the Broncos over the last three seasons.
