Cooper signed a two-year deal with the Falcons in April but was waived Aug. 31 after collecting 14 tackles and zero takeaways during the preseason. The 25-year-old defensive back has yet to make his NFL regular-season debut, but he may be afforded his first opportunity Sunday when Atlanta takes on Tampa Bay's No. 1 passing offense.

Cooper agreed to a two-year deal with the Falcons on Friday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Cooper found himself in competition for a roster spot with the Colts last summer until he was forced to exit the preseason finale with a concussion. The former Stony Brook standout was waived shortly thereafter, and he remained unsigned until being added to Kansas City's practice squad in early January before the start of the team's playoff run. Yet to make his regular-season debut, the 25-year-old Cooper is slated to compete for a backup safety or special teams role with Atlanta.

Cooper suffered the concussion during the preseason and was waived off injured reserve by the Colts in late September. The 24-year-old could be signed for added depth in the secondary should the Chiefs suffer any injuries in their potential playoff run.
