Toran was waived by the Patriots on Tuesday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Toran was one of several Patriots to opt out of the 2020 season. The reserve offensive lineman spent time with the 49ers during the 2018 season before landing on New England's practice squad for the 2019 campaign.

Toran informed the Patriots on Monday that he will opt out of the 2020 season, Jim McBride of The Boston Globe reports.
Toran was expected to compete for an interior depth role on the offensive line in training camp, but he'll now wait until 2021 to resume his career.

Toran will join the 49ers for their offseason program that begins April 15. With an impressive showing in OTAs, training camp and the preseason, Toran could have a shot at earning a roster spot heading into 2019 as a reserve lineman.
