Falcons' Mike Ford: No designation to begin week
Ford was not listed in Wednesday's estimated practice report, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.
Ford suffered an ankle injury in Monday's win over the Rams and did not return. However, the issue won't jeopardize his status for Atlanta's Week 18 matchup against the Saints, and he should retain his significant role on special teams.

Falcons' Mike Ford: Questionable to return Monday
Ford (ankle) is questionable to return to Monday night's contest versus the Rams, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.
Ford suffered an ankle injury in the first half, and his status for the rest of the night is now in question. His absence doesn't carry much of a defensive impact for Atlanta, given that he's served exclusively on special teams this season.

Ford landed on the injury report and didn't practice Thursday, but he returned with a limited session Friday and will give it a go in Week 3 after testing his groin during pregame warmups. Ford has played exclusively on special teams through two games, totaling three tackles (two solo).

Falcons' Mike Ford: Inking deal with Atlanta
The Falcons will sign Ford to a two-year, $4 million contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Browns' Mike Ford: Underwhelms in Cleveland
Ford (forearm) recorded 13 total tackles across 17 games in 2024.
Ford played a reserve role for the Browns' defense this season, making no starts over his 17 appearances. The veteran cornerback logged just 56 defensive snaps compared to his 150 in 2023, which explains the significant drop in his tackle total from 28 to 13 in 2024. He's now set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason after signing a one-year, $1.1 million deal with the Browns last offseason. If Ford stays in Cleveland for 2025, he's expected to remain a depth piece in the team's secondary while also contributing on special teams.

Ford (forearm) is questionable to return to Saturday's game against the Ravens.
Ford injured his forearm in the third quarter of Saturday's game. He got the start at outside corner due to Denzel Ward (shoulder) being inactive. Cameron Mitchell and Rodney McLeod should see some snaps at outside corner for as long as Ford is sidelined.

Browns' Mike Ford: Moves to active roster
Ford was signed to the 53-man roster from the practice squad Wednesday.
Ford's move to the active roster comes after the team placed multiple players on injured reserve Tuesday and also has fellow cornerback, Martin Emerson, tending to an ankle injury. The 29-year-old played in 16 games for Cleveland last season, before joining the Texans as a free agent in the spring. However, Ford was ultimately released by Houston in late August, paving the way for his return to the Browns.
