John Franklin: Handed three-game suspension
The NFL announced Thursday that Franklin (knee) has been suspended three games for violating jointly developed and administered NFL-NFLPA COVID-19 protocols.
Franklin was suspended following a joint NFL-NFLPA review into recent allegations that he misrepresented his vaccination status. The free-agent wideout has already accepted the three-game ban and has waived his right to appeal, making him ineligible to play until Week 16 if he signs with a team. Franklin, who is recovering from an ACL tear suffered last September, has been on the open market since the Buccaneers waived him from the PUP list during the preseason.

John Franklin: Waived from PUP list
Tampa Bay waived Franklin (knee) from the physically unable to perform list with an injury settlement Thursday, independent NFL journalist Aaron Wilson reports.
Franklin underwent surgery for a torn ACL in September 2020, and he doesn't appear to be fully recovered yet as he failed his physical Tuesday. If he is able to get healthy, the 26-year-old will be free to sign with another team during the 2021 campaign.

Franklin (knee) was waived with a failed physical designation by the Buccaneers on Tuesday, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
Franklin was placed on the PUP list prior to the start of training camp as he continued to recover from ACL surgery. However, it appears he may not be as far along as the Buccaneers had thought, given his failed physical status. Once he is fully recovered, the wideout will look to sign on with a new club.
