Darwin Thompson: Cut by Las Vegas
The Raiders waived Thompson on Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Thompson joined the Raiders on Aug. 12 after being let go by the Seahawks in April. He registered six carries for 28 yards in two preseason games. The 2019 sixth-round pick out of Utah State will look for opportunities elsewhere once he clears waivers.

Raiders' Darwin Thompson: Finds work in Las Vegas
Thompson signed with the Raiders on Saturday.
Thompson was let go by Seattle ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft and has been a free agent since. However, the 2019 sixth-round pick becomes the second running back signed by the Raiders this week, as they continue to deal with the absence of Josh Jacobs, who hasn't reported to training camp amid a contract dispute with Las Vegas. Thompson totaled 64 rushing attempts for 225 yards and two scores across his first two NFL seasons (2019 and 2020) with Kansas City but hasn't appeared in a regular-season game since.

Darwin Thompson: Let go by Seattle
Seattle waived Thompson on Monday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Thompson was one of numerous cuts Monday, as the Seahawks cut down their roster ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft. The practice-squad running back impressed during limited preseason action last year and was signed to a reserve/future contract in January, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him land another job this spring or summer.

Seahawks' Darwin Thompson: Remains in Seattle
Seattle signed Thompson to a reserve/future contract Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Thompson earned a practice-squad contract after failing to make the Seahawks' initial 53-man roster, but he didn't make any appearances during the 2022 campaign. The Utah State product impressed during limited preseason action, and with his new contract, he'll have a chance to build off what he did with Seattle this year throughout the upcoming offseason.

Darwin Thompson: Exits Seattle
Thompson was waived by the Seahawks on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Thompson was unsurprisingly unable to make it through the Seahawks final roster cuts. He will presumably be a candidate to land on the team's practice squad assuming he ultimately goes unclaimed on waivers.

Seahawks' Darwin Thompson: Scores in preseason loss
Thompson rushed six times for 34 yards and a touchdown and caught his lone target for seven yards in Thursday's 27-11 preseason loss to the Bears.
Thompson didn't play until the third quarter, as he's still firmly behind Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas in the fight for a roster spot. Nevertheless, Thompson was quite effective with his reps, showing a good ability to break tackles en route to the Seahawks' only touchdown of the evening. Thompson may be able to sneak onto the 53-man roster if Kenneth Walker (hernia) ends up missing time to start the regular season.

Seahawks' Darwin Thompson: Totals 17 yards Saturday
Thompson rushed three times for 15 yards and caught his lone target for two yards in Saturday's 32-25 preseason loss to the Steelers. He also returned one kickoff for 14 yards.
Thompson didn't play on offense until the fourth quarter, as Kenneth Walker, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas all took the field before him. He wasn't effective in his limited reps. The 2019 sixth-round pick is on the roster bubble.
