Texans' Tank Dell: Involved in full-team drills Monday
Dell (knee) participated in "full-team drills" Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Dell practiced in pads last week for the first time since injuring his knee, and after initially being limited to individual drills he has advanced to team work. His status for Week 1 remains uncertain, but if he can avoid any setbacks there's reason to believe he'll be out there when the regular season gets underway.

Texans' Tank Dell: Week 1 status unclear
Dell said, "I'm taking it one day at a time" when asked Friday about his potential availability for Week 1 of the regular season versus Buffalo, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN reports.
Dell practiced with pads Wednesday for the first time in training camp, though at this point he's limited to individual drills. The Texans have so far not committed to a timeframe for when Dell will be ready to play during the regular season, but the good news is that doctors have deemed his knee "100 percent stable." When Dell gets into a contest, it will be his first game action since he tore multiple knee ligaments and dislocated his kneecap against the Chiefs in Week 16 of the 2024 campaign.

Texans' Tank Dell: Limited to individual drills
Dell (knee) was limited to individual drills Wednesday while wearing pads for the first time this summer, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
It's both a sign of progress and a reminder that the Texans want to slow-play things after Dell suffered major knee/leg injuries in each of his first two NFL seasons. He still has a shot to be ready in September, but his initial role could be small even if the team still views him as a potential top-three WR down the line.

Dell won't be a full practice participant, and there's still been no report of him gaining clearance for contact, but this at least represents another step in the right direction. Jonathan M. Dell's limitations are no surprise, though it is encouraging that he was able to avoid the active/PUP list to kick off camp. Wilson reports that Dell will work on the side during Wednesday's practice and for the early portion of training camp. It remains to be seen when Dell will be cleared for full-team work, but the wideout's recovery from his multi-ligament knee injury continues to look encouraging.

Texans' Tank Dell: Avoids PUP list to start camp
Dell (knee) won't start training camp on the PUP list, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
While it remains to be seen how much Dell will be able to do in practice once camp starts, avoiding the PUP list a good sign for the wideout as he makes his way back from a serious knee injury. The 2023 third-rounder hasn't seen game action since Week 16 of the 2024 season, so he figures to be eased in slowly. For now, Dell remains a very speculative fantasy option, but he could move up draft boards in the coming weeks if he looks sharp in training camp and re-establishes his chemistry with C.J. Stroud.

Texans' Tank Dell: Shows good progress in minicamp
Dell (knee) was limited during the Texans' minicamp that ended Thursday, but he has been "running and cutting without setbacks," Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Dell continues to rehab from the devastating knee injury that cost him all of the 2025 season. While he wasn't a full participant during Houston's just-completed minicamp, he did catch passes in team drills and worked off to side. The Texans' goal is to have Dell continue to ramp up over the summer so that he can increase his activity level during training camp. However, the team isn't providing a concrete timeline for when the wideout will be fully ready to participate in practices or play in games.

Texans' Tank Dell: Not participating in OTAs
Dell (knee) is not participating in OTAs this week, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
Dell is on the field in uniform, but he's not sporting a helmet, as the Texans are taking a "patient, long term approach" with the wide receiver this offseason, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston. The 26-year-old has been sidelined since tearing multiple knee ligaments in Week 16 of the 2024 season. While Dell may not participate in offseason workouts, there's a good chance he's on the field at training camp with an eye toward Week 1 of the regular season. If healthy, Dell should occupy a spot in three-wide sets alongside Nico Collins and Jayden Higgins, with Jaylin Noel and Xavier Hutchinson available as sub-package wideouts.

Texans' Tank Dell: Status for OTAs uncertain
Coach DeMeco Ryans acknowledged Tuesday that he's uncertain whether Dell (knee) will be available for the Texans' upcoming offseason activities, but he added that he expects the wide receiver will be "back for (the team) at some point this year," Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Dell hasn't played since tearing most of the ligaments in his left knee while also dislocating his kneecap in a Dec. 21, 2024 game against the Chiefs. While Ryans is hopeful that Dell will be able to contribute at some point this coming season, he doesn't plan to rush the 2023 third-rounder back. "I told Tank, it's not a matter of getting back to OTAs just to get back," Ryans said. "It's just a matter of getting back, being in a really good spot physically so you can stay there. It's not about how quickly he returns, it's just about Tank returning." Once Dell is able to return to the field, he'll join a Houston WR corps that's led by Nico Collins and also includes Jayden Higgins, Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel and Justin Watson. Prior to his injury, the 26-year-old had compiled a 98-1,376-10 line on 156 targets over the course of 25 regular-season contests.

Texans' Tank Dell: GM optimistic regarding return
Houston general manager Nick Caserio said Wednesday that he expects Dell (knee) to be available for offseason activities, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Caserio acknowledged that the team will have a better idea about where Dell stands in his recovery from the pair of surgeries he underwent in early 2025 to address a major left knee injury once he gets on the field during OTAs. The GM's comments echo those of head coach DeMeco Ryans, who told Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle on Tuesday that Dell pushed hard to return toward the end of this past season. Dell's return should bolster an offense that was often out of sync in 2025, though it's fair to wonder if the fourth-year wideout's explosiveness might be compromised to some degree coming off surgery. Before sitting out the 2025 campaign, Dell registered 98 receptions on 156 targets for 1,376 yards and 10 touchdowns in 25 games over his first two NFL seasons.
