Cardinals' Tyler Allgeier: Outproduced by Knight again
Allgeier rushed eight times for 19 yards and caught all three of his targets for 30 yards in Sunday's 30-16 loss to the Broncos.
For a second consecutive game, Allgeier led the Cardinals in carries in the absence of Jeremiyah Love (ankle) but was far less efficient on the ground than Bam Knight. Allgeier has 57 rushing yards on 26 carries (2.2 YPC) during this two-game span compared to 128 rushing yards on 22 carries (5.8 YPC) for Knight over the same stretch. Love should reclaim his spot as the top option in Arizona's backfield once he's cleared to return, and even if that doesn't happen in Week 8 against the Cowboys, Allgeier could start to cede more opportunities to Knight if Allgeier remains inefficient.

Cardinals' Tyler Allgeier: Maintaining elevated role sans Love
Allgeier and Bam Knight will be the Cardinals' top backs for Sunday's game against the Broncos due to the absence of Jeremiyah Love (ankle), Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Love is set to miss a second consecutive game while working through a lingering ankle injury. Allgeier logged 18 carries in Week 6 against the Rams, but he turned that into only 38 yards while adding one catch (on two targets) for 10 yards. Knight, on the the other hand, was more efficient, turning 17 touches into 98 yards. It could be a 50-50 split in the Cardinals backfield for Sunday's contest against a Broncos defense that gives up 139.8 rushing yards per game, which is second-worst in the NFL behind the Cowboys (149.8).

Allgeier's season averaged dipped below 3.0 yards per carry with Sunday's inefficient outing. Love would likely reclaim the lead role if he returns in Week 7 against the Broncos, and Knight could also earn touches at Allgeier's expense moving forward in a crowded Cardinals backfield that may also welcome James Conner (foot) back from injured reserve in the coming weeks.

Allgeier is poised for a leading role out of the Cardinals backfield Sunday at the Rams with Jeremiyah Love (ankle) sidelined in Week 6, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Despite Love being active for each of the first five contests of the season, Allgeier's snap share ranged from 36 to 64 percent weekly, and he averaged 9.4 touches for 32.6 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring one rushing TD. The overall workload thus will increase with Love out, and Allgeier's primary competition for RB reps will be Bam Knight, who has just three carries in 2026.

Allgeier rushed three times for seven yards and caught both of his targets for nine yards during Sunday's 45-21 loss to the Lions.
Allgeier was on the field for 32 offensive snaps, but he only had five touches in the contest. In comparison, rookie running back Jeremiyah Love turned 12 carries into 22 yards over his 34 offensive snaps in the defeat. Allgeier has rushed 35 times for 119 yards and a touchdown while reeling in all 12 of his targets for 44 yards over five contests this season, and he remains a valuable insurance policy for fantasy managers with Love on their roster.

Allgeier rushed eight times for 42 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 36-24 loss to the Giants. He added two catches for seven yards on two targets.
After Jeremiyah Love appeared to distance himself from Allgeier in Week 3 against the 49ers, Allgeier ended up out-snapping the rookie running back against the Giants. Love out-carried Allgeier 14 to eight Sunday, but it was Allgeier who found the end zone with a 22-yard score in the first quarter to give Arizona a 14-3 lead. Through four games, Allgeier has rushed 32 times for 112 yards and a touchdown, adding 10 catches for 35 yards on 10 targets. Splitting time with Love, Allgeier is touchdown-or-bust fantasy option most weeks.

Allgeier saw a substantial reduction in his rush attempts in Week 2, going from 17 carries Week 1 versus the Chargers to only having five in Sunday's blowout loss. The running back and the rest of Arizona's offense never found any sort of sustained success against Seattle, so he was far from being the only disappointing player in the contest.
