Browns' Mohamoud Diabate: Production dips in 2025
Diabate recorded 49 total tackles (22 solo) and one forced fumble over 17 regular-season games in 2025.
The 24-year-old from Utah saw declines in both total tackles (70 to 49) and passes defensed (three to zero) compared to his 2024 campaign. However, he played 266 fewer defensive snaps in 2025, operating in more of a reserve role due to the emergence of Carson Schwesinger. Set to become a restricted free agent this offseason, Diabate can be retained by the Browns if they choose to match any offer he receives. He's expected to draw interest from teams in need of inside linebacker help ahead of next season.

Browns' Mohamoud Diabate: Cleared to play Week 1
Diabate (quadriceps) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plan Dealer reports.
Diabate was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday but upgraded to full participation Friday to avoid a Week 1 injury designation. He's expected to occupy a starting linebacker role for the Browns in 2025.

Browns' Mohamoud Diabate: Dealing with injury
Diabate did not participate in Monday's training camp practice due to an undisclosed injury, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
The unspecified injury also caused Diabate to miss Friday's preseason game against the Panthers. The nature and severity of the injury isn't clear, so Diabate's practice participation over the coming week will be an indicator of his availability for Saturday's exhibition contest against the Eagles. He played 13 regular-season games (11 starts) for the Browns in 2024 and finished with 70 tackles (35 solo) and three pass defenses.

Browns' Mohamoud Diabate: Starts 11 games in 2024
Diabate finished the 2024 season with 70 tackles (35 solo) and three pass breakups across 13 games with Cleveland.
Signed as an undrafted free agent out of Utah in 2023, Diabate appeared in 16 games as a rookie but played just 27 snaps on defense. His playing time on defense skyrocketed in Diabate's second season, seeing 581 snaps on that side of the ball. Starting linebackers Jordan Hicks and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah combining to miss 14 contests allowed Diabate to get more of a chance to play. Diabate is signed through the 2025 campaign.
