C.J. Hanson: Cut loose with injury settlement
The Chiefs waived Hanson (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Friday, Charles Goldman of AtoZSports.com reports.
Hanson moved to the Chiefs' IR on Monday after being waived/injured one day earlier and clearing waivers. The settlement allows the 2024 seventh-rounder to sign with a team once fully healthy, and he could remain in Kansas City as a member of the team's practice squad.

Hanson was waived/injured Sunday and subsequently went unclaimed on waivers. Since he consequently reverted to IR, he'll need to sit out the entire 2026 season unless he works out an injury settlement with the Chiefs.

Chiefs' C.J. Hanson: Round 7 blocker for Kansas City
The Chiefs selected Hanson in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 248th overall.
Hanson was a three-year starter as a five-year player at Holy Cross, and now he heads to the Chiefs to try to win a roster spot as a reserve interior lineman. It might help his odds somewhat if he can give the Chiefs good practice reps at center after playing guard in college. At 6-foot-5, 300 pounds, Hanson is a bit tall and light for the interior, so he might need to bulk up on the practice squad first.
