Isaiah Iton: Reaches injury settlement with New England
The Patriots waived Iton (undisclosed) from injured reserve Wednesday with an injury settlement, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Iton reverted to the Patriots' injured reserve on Aug. 31 after clearing waivers. The defensive tackle likely thinks he can contribute to another team in 2026 and has reached a settlement with New England to become a free agent. Once Iton recovers from his undisclosed issue, he will be free to sign with any organization.

Iton signed with the team July 20, and he appears to have picked up an undisclosed injury at some point during the preseason. If the defensive lineman clears waivers, he'll revert to injured reserve with the Patriots.

Iton missed all of last season while on IR due to a hip injury, though it's unclear if his current issue is related. The Rutgers product did play in all three of the Patriots' preseason contests, but he was waived/injured Sunday.
