    Barno (knee) was designated to return from the reserve/PUP list Monday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

    Barno suffered an ACL injury late last season and has been on the PUP list since training camp opened. He'll now have a 21-day window to practice with the team before he needs to be added to the 53-man roster or revert to IR for the rest of the campaign.

He remains without a specific return day, but his limited work at OTAs, albeit capped, is promising at this point. The 25-year-old has primarily been a depth option on the edge through two years in the league and projects for a similar role in 2024 when his health is back up to par.

    Barno finished out the 2023 campaign on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury in Week 16 against the Packers. Although it's not clear what the injury was or how much longer it may affect him, it appears to still be a big enough issue that the Virginia Tech product is not taking part in drills.
