Giants' Nic Jones: Set to return to Giants
Jones (shoulder) is slated to re-sign with the Giants, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Jones missed the Giants' final four games in 2025 due to a shoulder injury, but it now appears he's moved past the issue. The 2023 seventh-round pick from Ball State appeared in 13 games last season, recording eight total tackles and one pass defensed across 211 total snaps (192 on special teams, 19 on defense). He's expected to compete for a depth spot in the Giants' secondary throughout the summer.

Giants' Nic Jones: Lands on IR
The Giants placed Jones (shoulder) on injured reserve Saturday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.
Jones' season is officially over after he underwent surgery on his shoulder Friday. The 24-year-old ended up appearing in 13 games during the 2025 campaign and logged eight tackles (three solo) while seeing the majority of his playing time on special teams. He'll now shift his focus to getting healthy for the 2026 season.

Jones (shoulder) underwent season-ending shoulder surgery Friday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Jones has not missed a game this season and is third on the Giants in special-teams snaps with 192 (19 defensive snaps). Duggan also reported that the team hopes to have the 24-year-old impending free agent available in time for the offseason program.

Jones, who fractured a couple of fingers in Sunday's preseason loss to the Saints, has no clear return date, John Dillon of ChiefsWire reports.
"We will see how he does," were the words of head coach Andy Reid, regarding Jones. The rookie seventh-round selection exited the game after suffering the injury and did not return. Whether Jones can practice and play through the fractured finger or needs some time off the field remains to be seen.
