Eagles' Jalen Carter: Will not play Saturday
Carter (shoulders) has been ruled out for Saturday's matchup against the Commanders.
Carter hasnt played since Week 13 after having surgery on both of his shoulders in early December. With the 24-year-old still week-to-week, Byron Young will continue to have an expanded role on the defensive line for the third game in a row.

Eagles' Jalen Carter: Not practicing to begin week
Carter (shoulders) was estimated as a non-participant for Tuesday's walk-through practice.
Carter continues to recover from surgery on both of his shoulders, which he underwent earlier this month. The standout defensive tackle has missed the Eagles' last two games, and his lack of activity to begin the week puts him in danger of sitting out a third straight contest Saturday versus the Commanders. Byron Young will continue to see an expanded role along the defensive line for as long as Carter is sidelined.

Eagles' Jalen Carter: DNP again Thursday
Carter (shoulder) did not participate in Thursday's practice.
Carter was unable to upgrade his participation level for Thursday's practice after being unavailable for Wednesday's walkthrough. The defensive tackle missed his second game of the season last Monday, a game the Eagles lost to the Chargers in overtime. Carter will have just one more chance to upgrade his practice participation, and he's unlikely to be available for Sunday's game against the Raiders without an upgrade. If the Georgia product is unable to play, Byron Young will continue to see more defensive snaps.

Carter (shoulder) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Raiders.
Carter was unable to practice this week, making it consecutive weeks on the bench for the defensive lineman. Byron Young will likely continue to see an increased snap share at defensive tackle in the 2023 first-rounder's absence.

Carter sat out of the Eagles' 22-19 overtime loss to the Chargers on Monday after undergoing procedures on both of his shoulders in the early stages of Week 14 prep. The third-year defensive lineman is considered week-to-week, but unless he practices in at least a limited capacity over the next two days, he's unlikely to be available for Sunday's game against the Raiders. The Eagles have ruled out Carter (shoulder) for Week 14.
Carter did not participate in practice this week after undergoing procedures on both of his shoulders Monday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. He also reported the third-year pro is currently considered week-to-week and is expected to be ready in time for a possible playoff run. The 24-year-old has 32 tackles (20 solo), including 2.0 sacks, and six pass defenses. Byron Young figures to benefit from Carter's absence, along with defensive tackles Jordan Davis and Moro Ojomo.

Eagles' Jalen Carter: Unlikely to play Monday
Carter is expected to miss Monday's game at the Chargers after undergoing procedures on both of his shoulders this week, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The development has left Carter week-to-week, and Schefter also reports that while this may turn into a multi-week absence for the third-year pro, injured reserve doesn't appear to be an option for him for the time being. Through 11 games this season, Carter has tallied 32 tackles, including 2.0 sacks, and six pass defenses. Eagles' Jalen Carter: Impactful despite loss Friday
Carter tallied four tackles (three solo), including 1.0 sacks, and two defensed passes in Friday's Week 13 loss to Chicago.
Two of Carter's four stops went for a loss, including his second-quarter sack of Caleb Williams. Carter has also been excellent on passing plays of late, notching two defensed passes in three of his past four contests. The third-year defensive end has 32 tackles, including 2.0 sacks, along with six defensed passes on the campaign.
