  • Nick DeGennaro: Added to Commanders' PS

The Commanders signed DeGennaro to the practice squad Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

DeGennaro signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent, though he was cut in August. He will get another opportunity to make an NFL roster, and while that could happen in Washington, he likely wouldn't do anything to benefit fantasy managers.

  • Nick DeGennaro: Dropped by New England

The Patriots waived DeGennaro on Saturday, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports.

DeGennaro signed with the Patriots in early May as an undrafted free agent out of James Madison. The wide receiver was aiming for a special-teams slot with the team but has evidently fallen short. DeGennaro will be subject to waivers through Monday due to Sunday's cutdown day. If the 25-year-old goes unclaimed, he will become a free agent able to sign with any organization's 53-man roster or practice squad.

  • Patriots' Nick DeGennaro: Welcomed by Patriots

DeGennaro signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent Friday.

DeGennaro spent five seasons between Maryland and Richmond before finally settling in at James Madison for the 2025 campaign. He finished with 28 receptions for 500 yards (second on the team) and five touchdowns (tied for first). DeGennaro's team-high 17.4 yards per reception was impressive, and he backed it up with a 4.40 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. The late breakout is obviously concerning, but he could find a spot on special teams with a strong offseason program and training camp.
