The 49ers will be the third practice squad Baker has visited this season after stops at both the Patriots and Eagles facilities. The wide receiver has yet to play in a game this season, but at 23 years old, he has a lot of potential as a depth wide receiver for what seems like a perennially banged-up 49ers offense.

The cut makes room on the Eagles' practice squad for running back Audric Estime. Baker joined Philadelphia on the practice squad in early September after being cut from New England's 53-man roster at the end of August. The Patriots are waiving Baker on Wednesday, Mark Daniels of MassLive.com reports.
Baker made New England's initial 53-man roster Tuesday, but he'll now be cut loose as the team frees up space for its waiver claims. The 2024 fourth-round pick seems a likely candidate to re-sign to the practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers. He played just 83 snaps on offense as a rookie and finished with one catch for 12 yards (on four targets) across 11 regular-season appearances.

He was quiet during the preseason and didn't seem to make much noise at training camp, which puts Baker on the roster bubble one year after being a fourth-round pick. Injuries to other wide receivers help his case, but even that might not be enough to keep Baker around on the Week 1 roster.
