  • Tyler Ennis: Announces retirement

Ennis announced his retirement Wednesday. Ennis had five assists in seven games while playing with the Mannheim Eagles of the German league this campaign. The 34-year-old logged 700 NHL games across 13 seasons with Buffalo, Edmonton, Ottawa, Minnesota and Toronto, totaling 144 goals and 346 points. His best offensive season came in 2010-11 when he contributed 20 goals and 49 points in 82 outings with Buffalo. Ennis also had four goals and 12 points in 24 career playoff games.

  • Senators' Tyler Ennis: Surfaces on IR

Ennis (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, per the NHL's media site. Ennis missed Tuesday's win over Montreal and will now miss at least the next two games, including Thursday's tilt with Nashville. The 32-year-old is averaging 12:33 of ice time with 24 points through 57 games this season.

  • Senators' Tyler Ennis: Unavailable Tuesday

Ennis (upper body) will not be in the lineup against Montreal on Tuesday, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. Ennis was starting to find some offense of late with three points in his last four contests, though he did manage just two shots over that stretch as well. If the veteran winger can avoid an extended absence, he could still reach the 30-point threshold for just the second time in the last seven seasons. In his stead, Parker Kelly was called up from the minors and will jump into a bottom-six role versus the Habs.

  • Senators' Tyler Ennis: Injured Sunday

Ennis (upper body) will not return to Sunday's game against Detroit. Ennis logged 7:23 of ice time before suffering an injury during the second period. The 32-year-old had recorded a point in his previous three appearances and he now sits at 24 points through 57 contests. An update on his status should be available before Tuesday's tilt with Montreal.

  • Senators' Tyler Ennis: Provides only offense in loss

Ennis scored his seventh goal of the season in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Blue Jackets. It was a grinder's goal, as Ennis made his way to the front of the Columbus net and jostled Elvis Merzlikins slightly to move him back in the crease, creating enough space for him to tap home a feed from Thomas Chabot (upper body). Ennis is holding down a spot on the second line for the Senators at even strength, but with only 21 points through 50 games on the season, he's not on any fantasy radars.

  • Senators' Tyler Ennis: Keeps rolling with assist

Ennis provided an assist in a 4-1 loss to the Islanders on Tuesday. Ennis now has points in four of his last six games after an extended cold streak that saw him put up just three points in eight games in December. The 32-year-old has already doubled his output from last season with 18 points across 35 contests.

  • Senators' Tyler Ennis: Supplies only offense Saturday

Ennis scored his fifth goal of the season in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Ducks. He was able to beat John Gibson midway through the first period to tie the score at 1-1, but it was the only offense the Senators could muster on the afternoon. Ennis is enjoying some success lately on Ottawa's top line with four goals and five points in the last four games, but on the season he has only 17 points through 33 contests.

  • Senators' Tyler Ennis: Hat trick against former team

Ennis scored three goals on six shots in Tuesday's 5-0 win over Buffalo. Ennis came into this one with just one goal in 30 games this season, but he tripled that total in this game alone, putting forth an inspired performance against the team with which he spent his first eight seasons. The diminutive forward potted two of Ottawa's three goals in a 2:55 span in the first period, then completed the hat trick with just 30 seconds remaining in the third. It wasn't a cheap empty netter, either, as Aaron Dell was still in Buffalo's net.

  • Senators' Tyler Ennis: Adds assist

Ennis delivered an assist in a 2-1 win over the Blue Jackets on Sunday. Ennis also took six shots in this one. In 30 games, Ennis is up to one goal and 12 assists.

  • Senators' Tyler Ennis: Deuces wild in Carolina

Ennis had two assists, two shots, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Hurricanes. Ennis set up both of Alex Formenton's goals, as the Senators got some rare contributions from their fourth line. It was the first multi-point performance since Opening Night for the diminutive forward, though Ennis is quietly on pace to top 40 points with a goal and 10 assists through 19 games.

  • Senators' Tyler Ennis: Provides helper Monday

Ennis logged an assist and four PIM in Monday's 7-5 loss to the Avalanche. Ennis helped out on the second of Zach Sanford's three goals in the game. The 32-year-old Ennis hasn't scored since Opening Night, but he's been mildly productive as a bottom-six playmaker. He's at one goal, eight helpers, 22 shots on net, 21 hits and six PIM in 15 appearances.

  • Senators' Tyler Ennis: Ready to play Tuesday

Ennis (illness) will return against the Bruins on Tuesday, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. Ennis remains bogged down in a nine-game goal drought dating back to Opening Night against the Leafs on Oct. 14. Looking ahead to the rest of the season, fantasy players probably shouldn't be expecting Ennis to get back to being a 40-point producer as he was earlier in his career with Buffalo.

  • Senators' Tyler Ennis: Won't play Saturday

Ennis (illness) won't play Saturday versus Tampa Bay. Ennis will miss Saturday's game with a non-COVID illness. With Ennis under the weather, the recently recalled Parker Kelly will jump into the lineup against the Lightning.

  • Senators' Tyler Ennis: Snags assist

Ennis produced an assist, four shots on goal and four hits in Monday's 5-1 loss to the Blackhawks. Ennis helped out on an Alex Formenton goal in the third period, which was all the Senators could put past Marc-Andre Fleury. Through eight games, Ennis has provided solid depth offense with a goal, four helpers, 14 shots on net and 12 hits. While he's been limited to a third-line role, the veteran winger's decent scoring pace and slight physicality could help in deeper fantasy formats.

  • Senators' Tyler Ennis: Posts two points in opener

Ennis scored on the power play and added an assist in a 3-2 win over Toronto on Thursday. Ennis' chances for ice time took a hit early Thursday with the news of Brady Tkachuk's new contract, but this performance certainly can't hurt his case to stay involved in the Senators' offense. With Colin White still on the shelf with an upper-body injury, Ennis should still have plenty of chances when Tkachuk arrives, so he could become a solid DFS value play if he keeps producing.

  • Senators' Tyler Ennis: Secures one-year deal

Ennis signed a one-year, $900,000 contract with Ottawa on Thursday. Ennis was able to turn his professional tryout during training camp into a full NHL deal, though his prospects were likely improved following the news of Colin White's (shoulder) 4-6 month absence and the fact that Brady Tkachuk remains unsigned. Still, Ennis racked up 33 points in 61 games last time he was with Ottawa and will look to recapture that magic in 2021-22.
