Top Roman Josi News

  • Predators' Roman Josi: Plays hero in OT win

Josi scored two goals, including the overtime winner, placed three shots on net and recorded two blocks in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over Edmonton.

Josi willed the Predators back into Tuesday's contest with the game-tying goal in the second period. When the extra period rolled around, he stole the puck from Edmonton goalie Tristan Jarry, who left the crease to knock away a pass. Josi received a feed from Brady Skjei seconds later that he buried for the OT winner. Tuesday's pair of twine finders brings Josi up to eight goals, 23 points, 88 shots on net and 51 blocks through 34 games this season. While his season totals don't jump off the page as much as they have in seasons past, the Swiss blueliner has five points in his last two games and six goals in his past 11 outings. His scoring potential is undeniable, as he's well on the pace to reach double-digit goals for the 11th time in his career. Look for Nashville's captain to push for another 50-point campaign.

One of Josi's helpers also came on the power play. The 35-year-old defenseman had gone 12 games without a multi-point effort entering this contest, and he had just four points and a minus-7 rating in that span. For the season, the Swiss blueliner is up to six goals, 15 helpers, eight power-play points, 85 shots on net, 49 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a minus-10 rating through 33 appearances.

The 35-year-old defenseman is up to five goals, 18 points, 73 shots on net, 44 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating through 28 appearances. Getting Josi healthy and productive has been a big part of the Predators' success over the last month, and he remains a strong option for fantasy blue lines.

  • Predators' Roman Josi: Two helpers in win

Josi had two assists, including one on the power play, in Monday's 5-2 win over the Blues.

Josi hasn't found the back of the net since Nov. 26, when he scored a goal in a 6-3 victory over the Red Wings, but he remains a productive offensive weapon on the blue line. Since missing 12 contests due to an upper-body injury from Oct. 25 - Nov. 16, Josi has appeared in 12 straight games for the Preds and has racked up nine points (one goal, eight assists), 10 PIM, 34 shots, four hits, 13 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating during that span.

The Swiss defenseman is up to 12 points, 47 shots on net, 26 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating across 18 appearances. Josi's play has improved during a hot stretch for the Predators, so fantasy managers should continue to be patient for him to round into form.

Josi scored a goal on three shots, added four PIM and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Red Wings.

The 35-year-old blueliner has two goals, seven points, 32 shots on net, 16 blocked shots, 10 PIM and a minus-6 rating through 11 appearances. Josi should be in most fantasy lineups, as he's likely to be one of the few Predators skaters to produce steady offense.

Josi logged an assist, six shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Panthers.

Josi missed 12 games due to an upper-body injury. He's since reclaimed his spots on the top power-play unit and first pairing at even strength, which should allow him to be a steady contributor on offense even on a low-scoring team. He's at six points, 29 shots on net, 16 blocked shots and a minus-8 rating through 10 appearances this season.

Josi (upper body) has been activated from injured reserve and will return to the lineup Saturday versus Colorado, according to Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site.

Josi (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday.

Josi remains week-to-week and has already missed the last five games. It's still unclear when he will be available to return to the lineup. He has accounted for one goal, four assists, 19 shots on net, 15 blocked shots and four hits across eight appearances this season. Josi's move to the IR list opens a roster spot for the Predators to potentially recall a forward from AHL Milwaukee to replace Cole Smith (upper body).

  • Predators' Roman Josi: Deemed week-to-week

Josi (upper body) is week-to-week, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports Saturday.

Josi has one goal, four assists, 19 shots on net, 15 blocked shots and four hits across eight appearances this season. The Predators clarified that Josi's injury isn't related to his POTS diagnosis from last season, but it's still unclear how long he will be unavailable. The Nashville captain will probably be replaced in Saturday's lineup against the Kings by Nicolas Hague (upper body), who will be a game-time decision. If Hague isn't ready to return, Nick Blankenburg will play instead.

  • Predators' Roman Josi: Ripples twine in loss

Josi scored a goal on four shots, blocked three shots and went minus-3 in Tuesday's 7-4 loss to the Maple Leafs.

Josi's offense has been up to par so far -- he has a goal and two assists over four games. The defensive side hasn't been quite as good, as the Swiss blueliner has a minus-2 rating with 11 blocked shots. Josi missed 29 games in 2024-25, so he may still be shaking off some rust. He's playing a massive role in all situations as usual, so fantasy managers should be cautiously optimistic about his production for the remainder of the campaign.

  • Predators' Roman Josi: Tallies assist in season opener

Josi posted a power-play assist and blocked five shots in Thursday's 2-1 win over Columbus.

Josi grabbed an apple on the power play during Ryan O'Reilly's game-winning goal. The 35-year-old Josi, as well as the rest of the Predators' roster, struggled a year ago. Josi missed 29 games between a lower-body injury and a concussion, so his power-play assist on the game-winning tally was a welcome sight for all Nashville fans. The star blueliner posted his second-best offensive season just two years ago with 85 points, and he's showcased that he still has a lot left to give. Josi is a clear bounce-back candidate for the 2025-26 season and will challenge many of the league's best defensemen in points if he can stay healthy.

  • Predators' Roman Josi: Healthy for start of camp

Josi (concussion) is healthy and available for the start of training camp, TSN reports Thursday.

Josi missed the end of last season due to a concussion, and he was later diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. However, he worked with experts during the offseason to manage his diagnosis, and he feels good to begin training camp. The 35-year-old was limited to just 53 regular-season appearances last year, and while he could get some occasional nights off during the 2025-26 campaign to manage his workload, it wouldn't be surprising to see him bounce back.

It can also result in a fast heart rate, fatigue and dizziness when transitioning from sitting or lying down to standing.
