Predators' Scott Wedgewood: Loses in overtime
Wedgewood stopped 31 of 34 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Oilers.
Wedgewood dropped to 1-2-1 on the year, but this was arguably his best outing. He was able to keep the game close, though the trio of Darnell Nurse, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl combined for three goals and seven points. Wedgewood has allowed 15 goals on 103 shots for an .854 save percentage through four appearances. Look for Juuse Saros to get the starting nod in Calgary on Friday to complete this back-to-back set in Alberta.

Predators' Scott Wedgewood: Starting in Edmonton
Wedgewood will protect the road goal versus the Oilers on Thursday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
Juuse Saros has already lost to the Oilers twice this season, and this is the first half of a back-to-back set, so Wedgewood will get the nod. Wedgewood hasn't been sharp in limited action, allowing 13 goals on 82 shots over three appearances, going 1-2-0 in those games.

Predators' Scott Wedgewood: Struggles in loss to Florida
Wedgewood stopped 28 of 34 shots in Thursday's 6-2 loss to the Panthers.
Wedgewood has struggled massively in his three appearances this season, giving up at least three goals each time en route to a 1-2-0 record, a 4.37 GAA and a subpar .841 save percentage. Wedgewood shouldn't be targeted in any fantasy format going forward, both due to his struggles but also due to his backup role behind Juuse Saros.

Predators' Scott Wedgewood: In goal Thursday
Wedgewood will protect the road goal versus the Panthers on Thursday.
Wedgewood will get the second half of a back-to-back after Juuse Saros started Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Capitals. The 32-year-old Wedgewood will be making just his third start of the season, having allowed seven goals on 48 shots across his first two outings. Given the back-to-back and the quality of the opponent, Wedgewood is a risky option for fantasy managers.

Predators' Scott Wedgewood: Wins in overtime
Wedgewood stopped 25 of 28 shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Blue Jackets.
The Predators didn't lead until Jonathan Marchessault scored the game-winner 1:44 into overtime. Wedgewood has allowed seven goals on 48 shots over his first two appearances of the season, which isn't enough for him to make a dent in Juuse Saros' playing time. Wedgewood will likely return to the bench when the Predators visit the Lightning on Monday.

Predators' Scott Wedgewood: Tending twine Saturday
Wedgewood will guard the home goal versus the Blue Jackets on Saturday, Robby Stanley of NHL.com reports.
Wedgewood will draw the start in the second half of a back-to-back after Juuse Saros earned the win Friday over the Blackhawks. The 32-year-old Wedgewood's last game action came Opening Night versus the Stars, and he allowed four goals on 20 shots in that contest. The Blue Jackets have scored 24 goals over six games this season.

Predators' Scott Wedgewood: Loses to former team
Wedgewood surrendered four goals on 20 shots in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Stars.
While the Predators' new-look offense controlled play pretty well, the Stars were opportunistic against their former teammate, striking four times in the second period. Wedgewood got the Opening Night assignment because Juuse Saros (lower body) was unavailable. Depending on the length of Saros' absence, Wedgewood may have some short-term fantasy appeal, but he was roughly average last season with a 16-7-5 record, 2.85 GAA and .899 save percentage over 32 appearances.

Predators' Scott Wedgewood: Starting against Dallas
Wedgewood was the first goalie off Thursday, Emma Lingan of The Hockey News reports, indicating he'll be in the home crease against Dallas.
Since Juuse Saros (lower body) is hurt, Wedgewood will draw the Opening Night start against his former team. Over 32 regular-season appearances with the Stars last year, he posted a 16-7-5 record, 2.85 GAA and .899 save percentage. Saros should take over as the clear No. 1 option at goaltender once he's healthy.

Predators' Scott Wedgewood: Shaky again Wednesday
Wedgewood stopped just 11 of 15 shots in Wednesday's 6-4 preseason win over the Hurricanes.
While Nashville's offense dominated play and built a 3-0 lead midway through the first period, Wedgewood wasn't exactly sharp on the limited shot volume he faced. The 32-year-old goalie was brought in this offseason to provide a steady veteran backup to Juuse Saros, but Wedgewood has coughed up 10 goals on only 38 shots in two exhibition outings for the Preds. If his struggles continue into the regular season, Magnus Chrona or Matt Murray could get a look as Saros' understudy instead.

Stars' Scott Wedgewood: Tough day in Chicago
Wedgewood made 14 saves in Saturday's 3-2 loss to Chicago.
All three goals the 31-year-old netminder allowed came in the second period, and they were scored before Dallas had even gotten on the board. It's Wedgewood's first regulation loss since Feb. 20, and over five outings in March, he's posted a 2.20 GAA despite a .900 save percentage thanks to the Stars' stingy defense -- he hasn't faced 30 or more shots in a game in two months.

Stars' Scott Wedgewood: Does enough to win
Wedgewood stopped 17 of 20 shots in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Sharks.
Wedgewood got a spot start against a less-than-intimidating opponent. Outside of a frenetic second period that saw each team score three goals, Wedgewood did a fine job under a light workload. He's won his last three results while allowing seven goals across four games in that span. For the season, the 31-year-old is 16-6-5 with a 2.84 GAA and a .901 save percentage as Jake Oettinger's understudy. Expect Oettinger to be back between the pipes Thursday in Vancouver.
