Kraken's Christopher Gibson: Sent back down
Gibson was reassigned to AHL Coachella Valley on Wednesday, Kraken radio announcer Mike Benton reports.
Gibson was with the Kraken as goaltending depth when Martin Jones (personal) went on the non-roster list Tuesday. It appears Jones has returned to the team, so Gibson's services are no longer needed with the big club.

Kraken's Christopher Gibson: Snags one-year deal
Gibson agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with Seattle on Thursday.
Gibson was with Arizona on a professional tryout during training camp but had to wait for injuries to open the door for a deal in Seattle. With both Philipp Grubauer (lower body) and Chris Driedger (knee) sidelined, the Kraken are running thin on netminders. Gibson has made one appearance for AHL Coachella Valley and will likely remain there unless another injury pops up.

Christopher Gibson: Released from PTO
Gibson was released from his professional tryout with the Coyotes on Thursday.
Considering the Coyotes have rather lackluster options in net, this doesn't bode well for Gibson's ability to find a two-way deal before the season starts. The 29-year-old may have to settle for an AHL-only deal or head overseas to find playing time in 2022-23.

Coyotes' Christopher Gibson: Links up with Arizona on PTO
Gibson signed a professional tryout agreement with the Coyotes on Tuesday, per CapFriendly.
Gibson spent much of 2021-22 in the AHL with Charlotte, logging a 2.80 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 14 games in his lone year in the Panthers' organization. The Coyotes' goaltending group is a few notches below impressive, though he'll likely have a tough time unseating Jon Gillies as the team's presumptive backup to Karel Vejmelka heading into 2022-23.

Panthers' Christopher Gibson: Sent down Wednesday
Gibson was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Wednesday.
Gibson's time with the big club ended after Sergei Bobrovsky was cleared from an upper-body injury and served as Spencer Knight's backup Tuesday versus the Devils. The 28-year-old Gibson will remain the Panthers' No. 3 option in goal in the organization, though he shouldn't be expected to play much at the NHL level.

Panthers' Christopher Gibson: Promoted to NHL
Gibson was recalled from AHL Charlotte on Friday, David Dwork of Local 10 Miami reports.
Gibson could serve as Spencer Knight's backup Saturday against the Hurricanes if Sergei Bobrovsky (upper body) isn't available. The 28-year-old owns an unsightly 4.33 GAA and .882 save percentage in four AHL appearances this season. Once Bobrovsky is healthy, Gibson will head back to the minors.

Panthers' Christopher Gibson: On track to start versus Dallas
Gibson is slated to start between the pipes on the road in Wednesday's preseason game against the Stars, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.
Gibson is probably, at best, fourth on the Panthers' depth chart among goaltenders, so he'll almost certainly be heading to Florida's minor-league affiliate before regular-season play gets underway. The 28-year-old Finn went 1-1-0 while posting a 2.65 GAA and an .875 save percentage in two appearances with the Lightning in 2020-21.

Panthers' Christopher Gibson: Joins in-state rivals
Gibson signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Panthers on Wednesday, David Dwork of Local 10 Miami reports.
Gibson spent last season with the Lightning, and he won't have to move too far after signing with the Panthers. The 28-year-old goalie has a very slim chance of winning a spot on the big club's roster -- instead, he'll likely spend the bulk of the year with AHL Charlotte unless an injury befalls Sergei Bobrovsky or Spencer Knight.

Lightning's Christopher Gibson: Surprise starter Sunday
Gibson led the Lightning onto the ice and will start Sunday's game against the Red Wings, Lightning Radio reports.
Andrei Vasilevskiy (undisclosed) will sit out for the second straight game, which will give Gibson a chance to man the crease after he backed up Curtis McElhinney on Saturday. Gibson's only other start this season also came against the Red Wings. He took the loss in that one after allowing four goals on 17 shots but will look to fare better in this outing against the league-worst Detroit offense (2.17 goals per game).

Lightning's Christopher Gibson: Routed by Red Wings
Gibson stopped 13 of 17 shots in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Red Wings.
Detroit's final goal was scored into an empty net. Gibson's Tampa debut went about as poorly as possible, and with the team not having another set of back-to-back games until April 19-20, the 28-year-old may not get an opportunity to redeem himself unless usual No. 2 netminder Curtis McElhinney (undisclosed) is sidelined a lot longer than expected.

Gibson will make his Lightning debut Sunday. The 28-year-old netminder has just 14 NHL games on his resume, posting a .904 save percentage and a 3-4-3 record in the process. The Red Wings are certainly a favorable matchup, though, as they rank last in the league with just 2.13 goals per game.
