Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Facing multi-week absence
Landeskog (upper body) is expected to be sidelined for "some weeks," according to head coach Jared Bednar, Corey Masisak of The Denver Post reports Tuesday.
Landeskog hasn't been ruled out for Team Sweden at the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics, but things certainly don't look good for the 33-year-old winger. With Landeskog sidelined, Ross Colton figures to step into a top-six role while Taylor Makar could get an extended look at the NHL level. At this point, with Landeskog considered week-to-week, he will likely find himself on injured reserve sooner rather than later.

Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Set for absence
Head coach Jared Bednar stated Sunday that Landeskog (upper body) is still being evaluated but is going to miss some time, Corey Masisak of The Denver Post reports.
It's unclear if Landeskog will remain with the team for the last game of its road trip Tuesday against the Lightning, but either way, the 33-year-old is set to be sidelined for an unknown period of time. While Landeskog is out of the lineup, Artturi Lehkonen figures to move up to the top line, and Ross Colton could receive a boost in ice time as well. Furthermore, Taylor Makar, who was recalled from AHL Colorado on Friday, may also receive a longer look with the big club as a result of Landeskog's injury.

Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Injured in Florida
Landeskog sustained an upper-body injury Sunday against the Panthers and has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Landeskog lost an edge and crashed into the goalpost during the second period. Colorado's captain needed assistance leaving the ice and didn't come out for the start of the final frame. The Avalanche conclude their road trip Tuesday in Tampa Bay, and given the nature of his injury, Landeskog shouldn't be expected to suit up for that matchup.

Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Tallies in Saturday's win
Landeskog scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Hurricanes.
Landeskog had gone eight games without a goal, though he still managed six helpers in that span. He's been playing on the top line at even strength lately, taking over that spot at least temporarily while Artturi Lehkonen is on the second line. For the season, Landeskog has seven goals, 22 points, 86 shots on net, 59 hits, 25 PIM and a plus-18 rating over 40 appearances, which is good durability and production considering he missed three entire seasons due to injuries before returning in last season's playoffs.

Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Records two helpers in win
Landeskog recorded two assists, including one on the power play, fired four shots on net, served two PIM and had four hits in Sunday's 5-1 win over Minnesota.
Landeskog chipped in with a helper on two of Colorado's first three goals, including one on Cale Makar's power-play tally in the second period. With the pair of helpers, Landeskog is up to 12 assists, 18 points, 75 shots on net and 53 hits through 35 games this season. The 33-year-old forward has remained a steady fantasy option over the last five contests with four points, 15 shots on net, 12 hits and five blocks. He is one of the Avalanche's strongest category coverage forwards in fantasy, giving him an added boost on top of his offensive potential while playing top-line minutes alongside Nathan MacKinnon and Martin Necas. Landeskog is a solid option in most standard leagues moving forward.

Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Pads lead with goal
Landeskog scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Panthers.
Landeskog ended a four-game point drought with the tally. The winger has eight points over six outings prior to this recent slump. The 33-year-old is now at six goals, 15 points, 62 shots on net, 41 hits, 21 PIM and a plus-10 rating over 31 appearances. Landeskog remains in a middle-six role and is seeing power-play time, so he should be able to help fantasy managers as a depth winger.

Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Provides two helpers
Landeskog logged two assists and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Canucks.
Landeskog set up second-period tallies by Brock Nelson and Nathan MacKinnon. Prior to Tuesday, Landeskog battled an illness but ultimately didn't have to miss a game. He has earned three goals and five helpers, as well as a plus-8 rating and 17 shots on net, over his last six contests. The 33-year-old is up to 14 points, 46 shots on net, 37 hits, 21 PIM and a plus-11 rating through 26 appearances in a middle-six role. Landeskog's recent uptick in production should have him at least on the radar in all fantasy formats.

Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Moves past illness
Landeskog (illness) will suit up at home against the Canucks on Tuesday, according to Aarif Deen of Colorado Hockey Now.
Landeskog missed Monday's practice because of an illness, but he'll avoid missing his first game of the season Tuesday. The Swedish winger has seemed to have found his offensive stride lately, notching six points across his last five games, including two goals (one on the power play) and an assist in Saturday's 7-2 win over Montreal.

Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Under the weather
Landeskog will miss practice Monday due to an illness.
Landeskog joins Nathan MacKinnon and Parker Kelly on the shelf due to illness Monday. After starting the year with just two goals in his first 23 contests, the 33-year-old Landeskog appears to have found his stride, scoring three goals in his last two outings. At this point, Landeskog should be considered questionable ahead of Tuesday's game against Vancouver.

Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Three-point effort in win
Landeskog scored two goals, one on the power play, and added an even-strength assist in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Canadiens.
The veteran winger erupted for his first multi-point performance of the season, potting the Avs' second and seventh goals in the rout. Landeskog has been heating up of late, and over the last nine games, he's racked up five goals and eight points after managing just four points (all helpers) over his first 16 contests.

Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Three points in last four games
Landeskog scored a goal Friday in a 3-2 shootout loss to Minnesota.
Landeskog tied the game 2-2 at the mid-point of the third period after Nathan MacKinnon sent a no-look backhand pass from the left circle to him at the side of the net. Landeskog has a point in each of his last two games and three of his last four (one goal, two assists). It's a long way back for Landeskog, who played five playoff games last season after last lacing them up in June of 2022. Perhaps this little run is the start of his real comeback. He has three goals, six assists and 41 shots in 24 games.

Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Fills empty net
Landeskog scored an empty-net goal on two shots and added two PIM in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Sabres.
Landeskog's overturned goal count is still higher than his actual (three to two). He had one taken back earlier in this game before finding the empty-net to seal the win. The 32-year-old's ability to get the puck to the net -- even when it hasn't been rewarded -- is an encouraging sign for his production the rest of the way. He's managed six points, 26 shots on net, 28 hits, 19 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 18 appearances this season in a third-line role.

Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Finally gets first goal of season
Landeskog scored a goal on two shots and added five hits in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Ducks.
This was Landeskog's first regular-season goal in over three-and-a-half years. He's had a couple of pucks hit the net earlier this season, but both were called back on offside plays. Landeskog has done fine so far, all things considered, with his multi-year recovery from multiple knee surgeries. He's up to five points, 24 shots on net, 27 hits, 17 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 17 appearances in a third-line role.

Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: First point since 2021-22
Landeskog picked up an assist in a 4-1 win over the Blue Jackets on Thursday.
It was Landeskog's first point of the season. He returned for five playoff games last season, but he last played regular-season matches in 2021-22. Landeskog has faced a long and arduous path to return to the NHL, so this is a moment to applaud. It remains to be seen what he'll deliver over a long season, but it's encouraging that he's on the scoresheet.
