  • Keith Kinkaid: Signs minor-league deal

Kinkaid inked a one-year, minor-league contract with AHL Charlotte on Wednesday.

Kinkaid had started the preseason on a professional tryout deal with the Islanders, but it seems he will be heading south to link up with the Checkers. The fact that the 35-year-old backstop is on a minor-league-only deal means that Kinkaid won't be suiting up in the NHL this season -- unless somebody comes calling with an NHL-level contract.

  • Islanders' Keith Kinkaid: Named to rookie camp roster

Kinkaid will be on the ice with the Islanders' prospects after being named to the rookie camp roster Thursday and signing a professional tryout agreement, per Andrew Gross of Newsday.

Even if Kinkaid were to land a contract with the Islanders, it would almost certainly be a two-way deal or a minor-league-only contract considering Semyon Varlamov and Ilya Sorokin are cemented as the NHL duo heading into the 2024-25 campaign. As such, don't expect Kinkaid to offer much in the way of fantasy value this season.

  • Devils' Keith Kinkaid: Designated for waivers

Kinkaid (undisclosed) was placed on waivers for the purpose of reassignment Tuesday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.

Per NHL rules, Kinkaid has to be medically cleared before he can be waived or reassigned. While the veteran backstop has played sparingly at the NHL level over the last few seasons -- he saw action in just two games last year -- there are a handful of teams that could be in the market, including the Edmonton Oilers, who aren't exactly getting solid netminding out of either of their current goalies. If Kinkaid goes unclaimed, he will link up with AHL Utica for the time being.

  • Devils' Keith Kinkaid: Surfaces on IR

Kinkaid (undisclosed) was moved to the non-roster injured reserve Monday.

Kinkaid was injured early in the preseason and will be stashed away to begin the regular season. He appeared in just two NHL games last year and will likely begin his 2023-24 season at the AHL level once healthy.

  • Devils' Keith Kinkaid: Not practicing Wednesday

Kinkaid (undisclosed) isn't on the ice for Wednesday's practice, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Kinkaid suffered an injury Monday versus Montreal, and at this point it isn't clear how long he might be sidelined. Either way, once healthy, look for the veteran netminder to start the season in the AHL.

  • Devils' Keith Kinkaid: Inks two-way deal

Kinkaid signed a one-year, two-way contract with New Jersey on Wednesday.

Kinkaid's salary will be $350,000 if he plays in the AHL and it'll jump to $775,000 at the NHL level. The 34-year-old has a 70-58-21 record, 2.91 GAA and .905 save percentage in 169 career NHL outings. He'll probably start the campaign in the AHL, but he might spend time with the Devils if Vitek Vanecek or Akira Schmid sustains an injury during the 2023-24 campaign.

  • Keith Kinkaid: Links up with AHL Chicago

Kinkaid signed a one-year contract with AHL Chicago on Tuesday.

Chicago will operate independently this season, so Kinkaid will have no direct path back to an NHL deal. The 34-year-old split time between the Avalanche and the Bruins last season, playing in one game for each of those NHL clubs while spending the bulk of the campaign in the minors. Kinkaid will still be free to ink an NHL deal if he shows well with the Wolves.

  • Avalanche's Keith Kinkaid: Sent down

Kinkaid was assigned to AHL Colorado on Sunday.

Kinkaid had been serving as a depth goalie for the Avalanche during the playoffs. The defending Stanley Cup champions were eliminated in Game 7 by Seattle on Sunday, so Kinkaid will report back to Colorado's minor-league affiliate.

  • Avalanche's Keith Kinkaid: Joining playoff roster

Kinkaid was called up from AHL Colorado on Tuesday.

Kinkaid will serve as the Avalanche's third goalie during the postseason. It's unlikely the 33-year-old sees much playing time unless both of Alexandar Georgiev and Pavel Francouz are unavailable.

  • Avalanche's Keith Kinkaid: Dropped to AHL

Kinkaid was demoted to AHL Colorado on Sunday.

Kinkaid stopped eight stops in relief during his Avalanche debut Saturday against Dallas. The 33-year-old should be recalled before Tuesday's tilt with the Sharks if Pavel Francouz (lower body) is still out.

  • Avalanche's Keith Kinkaid: Allows one in relief

Kinkaid made eight saves in relief in a 7-3 loss to Dallas on Saturday. He allowed one goal.

Kinkaid entered the game in the second period and played 27:57 in his Avalanche debut. The only goal he allowed came early in the third period when Wyatt Johnston stole the puck from Avs forward Denis Malgin and slid it under his left pad. Kinkaid's only other NHL game this season -- a win -- came Nov. 12 with the Bruins.

  • Avalanche's Keith Kinkaid: Up with Avalanche

Kinkaid was recalled from AHL Colorado on Friday.

Kinkaid was acquired from Boston last Saturday in exchange for Shane Bowers. The 33-year-old netminder will probably back up Alexandar Georgiev on Saturday versus Dallas due to the absence of Pavel Francouz (lower body).

The 33-year-old has a 70-58-21 record, 2.91 GAA and .905 save percentage over 168 career NHL games. Kinkaid is expected to report to the AHL's Eagles, per Brennan Vogt of Full Press Hockey.

  • Bruins' Keith Kinkaid: Wins season debut

Kinkaid stopped 30 of 31 shots in a 3-1 win over the Sabres on Saturday.

It was a nice night for his Boston and season debut. The only goal that got past him came shorthanded in the first off the stick of Tage Thompson. The big Sabre stripped David Pastrnak of the puck just inside the Buffalo blue line, skated around David Krejci and slid the puck under Kinkaid's left pad.

  • Bruins' Keith Kinkaid: Set to play Saturday

Kinkaid was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports, indicating he will start in Buffalo on Saturday.

Kinkaid is poised to make his Boston debut. The Bruins play again on Sunday at home to Vancouver, so Linus Ullmark will probably get the nod for that contest. Kinkaid won his only NHL appearance last year as a member of the Rangers.

  • Bruins' Keith Kinkaid: Brought up from minors

Kinkaid was recalled from AHL Providence on Wednesday, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports.

Kinkaid will join the Bruins after Jeremy Swayman (leg) was injured against Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Boston doesn't have any back-to-backs in the near term, so Kinkaid may not get into a game anytime soon, especially considering starter Linus Ullmark is 7-0-1 with a 2.20 GAA.

  • Bruins' Keith Kinkaid: Placed on waivers Thursday

Kinkaid has been placed on waivers, according to Matt Porter of The Boston Globe.

Kinkaid was in a tough fight with Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark ahead of him on the depth chart. Kinkaid is on waivers and if he passes through, he will likely be the Bruins first call-up if there is an injury to either of the two netminders.

  • Bruins' Keith Kinkaid: Patrolling crease Monday

Kinkaid will be in goal on the road versus New Jersey on Monday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Kinkaid could be in the mix for a spot on the 23-man roster but would need to edge Linus Ullmark out for a place on the roster. Even if Knikaid does make the team for Opening Night, he shouldn't be expected to take the starting job away from Jeremy Swayman.
