Antoine Roussel: Released by Flyers
Roussel was released from his tryout with the Flyers on Thursday, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports.
Roussel has appeared in 607 games over the course of his 10-year NHL career with stops in Dallas, Vancouver and Arizona. Given his experience, the veteran winger may still be able to land a permanent deal in the NHL this season but otherwise may have to settle for a move overseas for the first time in his professional career.

Flyers' Antoine Roussel: Secures tryout
Roussel signed a professional tryout agreement with the Flyers on Monday, RDS.ca reports.
Roussel spent last season with the Coyotes, for whom he logged 53 games and tallied four goals, four assists and 74 hits. The gritty winger should be a fan favorite if he can secure a permanent contract but may need to settle for a two-way contract that would see him spend time in the minors.

Coyotes' Antoine Roussel: Offers helper in win
Roussel provided an assist and two hits in Friday's 5-4 win over the Predators.
Roussel closed out 2021-22 with a goal and an assist in his last three games. The French winger was limited to 53 games this season, logging eight points, 59 shots on net, 59 PIM and 74 hits in a bottom-four role. He's still effective as an agitator, but single-digit point totals are unlikely to interest many fantasy managers. He's set to be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Coyotes' Antoine Roussel: Brushes twine Tuesday
Roussel scored a goal in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Wild.
Roussel's goal was his first point in four contests since returning from a lower-body injury. The 32-year-old has found more success as an agitator than a scorer -- he's at seven points, 54 shots on net, 55 PIM and 71 hits in 51 appearances. The French winger will likely stick in the lineup to end the year as injuries have decimated the Coyotes' already thin depth.

Coyotes' Antoine Roussel: Playing against Boston
Roussel (not injury related) will be in the lineup to face the Bruins on Friday, per NHL.com.
Roussel returns following a four-game stint on the sidelines in the COVID-19 protocols. Considering the forward is stuck in a 15-game goal drought during which he has managed just two helpers, few fantasy players are likely to be impacted by his return to action.

Roussel is expected to miss a fourth consecutive game after missing three while in the COVID-19 protocols. Coyotes' Antoine Roussel: Lands in protocols
Roussel entered the NHL's COVID-19 protocols Tuesday, Arizona Coyotes Insider Craig Morgan reports.
Roussel will need to submit two negative COVID-19 tests before rejoining the lineup, so he'll miss Wednesday's game versus the Devils at a minimum. The 32-year-old winger has only picked up five points while posting an ugly minus-13 rating through 33 games this season, so fantasy managers shouldn't need to monitor his status.

Coyotes' Antoine Roussel: Unloads 10 PIM in loss
Roussel delivered 10 PIM in a 5-0 loss to the Avalanche on Saturday.
Roussel is probably not going to regain the double-digit goal, 100-plus hit seasons he was providing fantasy managers early on in his career, but the 10 PIM Saturday certainly were appreciable. The 32-year-old has four points and 43 hits in 32 games this season.

Coyotes' Antoine Roussel: Plucks apple in Saturday's loss
Roussel recorded an assist and three blocked shots in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Flyers.
Roussel set up Jay Beagle's first-period tally as the Coyotes' contingent of former Canucks contributed on offense. The 32-year-old Roussel is up to three goals, one assist, 24 shots on net, 25 hits, 35 PIM and 14 blocked shots in 23 outings. With a third-line role representing his most significant work this year, the French winger isn't much of an option for fantasy managers.

He's added 21 shots on net, 35 PIM, 18 hits and a minus-9 rating through 18 appearances. Despite the sudden uptick in offense, Roussel is unlikely to keep up his hot streak for long and doesn't need to be rostered in most fantasy formats.

He's added 35 PIM, 17 hits, 19 shots on net and a minus-10 rating. With limited offense and a bottom-six role in a poor offense, the French winger isn't likely to make much of a scoring impact.

Coyotes' Antoine Roussel: Joins new team at practice
Roussel (lower body) skated at Thursday's practice, Arizona Coyotes Insider Craig Morgan reports.
Roussel was limited to 35 games last season, and he missed the last 17 of the Canucks' contests with the injury. The 31-year-old winger is expected to play in a bottom-six role for the Coyotes this year. While he produced a career-high 31 points in 2018-19, it's unlikely the oft-injured, physical winger will surpass the 20-point mark this year.

Coyotes' Antoine Roussel: Bound for desert
Roussel (lower body) was traded Friday to Arizona along with Jay Beagle, Loui Eriksson, a 2021 first-round pick, a 2022 second-round pick and a 2023 seventh-round pick from Vancouver in exchange for Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Conor Garland, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. In addition, the Coyotes will retain a portion of Ekman-Larsson's salary.
Roussel, Beagle and Eriksson will combine to cost $12 million against the cap next year in what is essentially a massive salary dump for the Canucks. In 35 games last year, the 31-year-old Roussel managed a meager four points and figures to slot into a fourth-line role, assuming he's even in the lineup and not serving as a healthy scratch.
