Avalanche's Charlie Coyle: Traded to Colorado
Coyle was traded to Colorado from Boston along with a 2026 fifth-round pick for Casey Mittelstadt, Will Zellers and a conditional 2025 second-round selection, Anthony Di Marco of The Fourth Period reports Friday.
Coyle will likely slot into the third spot at center because Nathan MacKinnon and Brock Nelson are anchoring the top-two lines. Coyle has 15 goals, seven assists, 93 hits and 49 blocked shots across 64 games this season.

Avalanche's Charlie Coyle: Sends helper in team debut
Coyle notched an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Maple Leafs.
Coyle's run with his hometown Bruins came to an abrupt end Friday, with a deadline-day deal swapping him to the Avalanche for Casey Mittelstadt. Coyle's first game with Colorado saw him line up as the third-line center, and he set up a Jonathan Drouin tally in the third period. For the season, Coyle has racked up 23 points, 92 shots on net, 94 hits, 51 blocked shots and a minus-12 rating over 65 appearances. His ice time took a hit -- he skated 11:44 on Saturday compared to an average of 17:38 per game with the Bruins, and if that continues, he may struggle to make a consistent impact on offense with his new team.

Coyle scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Predators.
Coyle opened the scoring at 4:25 of the first period. It's his second goal over three games in March, which is already better than the one goal he had across seven outings in February. The 33-year-old forward is up to 15 goals, 22 points, 92 shots on net, 91 hits and a minus-14 rating through 63 contests in a disappointing campaign for himself and the Bruins as a whole.

Bruins' Charlie Coyle: Fills empty cage
Coyle scored a shorthanded empty-net goal in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Penguins.
Coyle snapped his six-game point drought with a critical insurance goal -- the Penguins scored once after the empty-netter but weren't able to pull even. This was Coyle's 14th goal of the season, two of which have been game-winners. The forward has added seven assists, 89 shots on net, 89 hits, 48 blocked shots and a minus-13 rating through 61 appearances.

Bruins' Charlie Coyle: Finds twine in Saturday's win
Coyle scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Rangers.
Coyle stretched the Bruins' lead to 3-1 in the second period. The forward has three goals and three assists over his last nine outings for one of his longer productive stretches of the season. He remains in a middle-six role and has played on the wing lately, though he's still taking a decent share of faceoffs -- Coyle was 6-for-15 at the dot Saturday. Overall, Coyle has 13 goals, 20 points, 76 shots on net, 80 hits, 43 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating through 54 appearances.

Bruins' Charlie Coyle: Slated to play
Coyle (illness) is expected to play Tuesday versus the Lightning, Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic reports.
Coyle was deemed a game-time decision earlier in the day but looks fine to play. The 32-year-old is likely to play in his usual third-line role. Oliver Wahlstrom is projected to come out of the lineup Tuesday while Matthew Poitras will also suit up after his call-up earlier in the day.

Bruins' Charlie Coyle: Availability in question Tuesday
Coyle (illness) will be a game-time decision Tuesday against Tampa Bay, Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic reports.
Coyle has yet to miss a game this season. If the right-shot center is unable to suit up against the Lightning, Matthew Poitras, who was recalled from AHL Providence on Tuesday, would draw into the lineup. Coyle has chipped in 10 goals and 14 points through 45 appearances this season.

Bruins' Charlie Coyle: Lends helper in loss
Coyle notched an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Coyle ended a three-game slump with the helper. He hasn't gotten on the scoresheet in more than three consecutive contests this season, which has made Coyle somewhat of a disappointment in fantasy following his 60-point 2023-24 campaign. He's at 10 goals, four assists, 59 shots on net, 57 hits, 30 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating through 41 outings in 2024-25 while maintaining a middle-six role.

Bruins' Charlie Coyle: Keeps scoring streak alive
Coyle scored a goal in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Blue Jackets.

Bruins' Charlie Coyle: Tallies two points
Coyle registered a goal, an assist, a plus-3 rating and three shots during Monday's 4-1 win over the Capitals.
Coyle has points in consecutive games and paid instant dividends after being moved to the top line alongside Brad Marchand and Elias Lindholm. With David Pastrnak (upper body) uncertain for Friday's action, the Bruins will need Coyle to keep distancing himself from an anemic start to the season that saw him produce just seven goals and nine points over the first 34 games.

Bruins' Charlie Coyle: Lights lamp Saturday
Coyle scored a goal on three shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Sabres.
This tally ended Coyle's eight-game goal drought, during which he had just one assist. The 32-year-old has mostly served as a third-line center in 2024-25, but he was moved up to right wing on the top line for Saturday's contest. Coyle has eight goals, two assists, 46 shots on net, 54 hits, 26 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating through 35 appearances. If he sticks in the top six, it could unlock more offense in his game.

Bruins' Charlie Coyle: Notches helper in overtime win
Coyle recorded an assist and three shots on goal in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Flyers.
Coyle hadn't recorded an assist since Nov. 7 versus the Flames, though he had five goals over 13 games between helpers. The 32-year-old center set up the second of Trent Frederic's two tallies in Saturday's contest. Coyle is now at nine points, 42 shots on net, 45 hits, 23 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating over 29 appearances. He remains in a third-line role and will need more consistency to move up the depth chart.

Bruins' Charlie Coyle: Joins the party in win
Coyle scored two goals on three shots, recorded one block and added one hit in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Canadiens.
Coyle was part of the first-period fun when Boston scored three times within 70 seconds. His was the third of that trio, as Coyle eventually controlled a loose rebound and scored on a backhander while facing away from the net. He later took advantage of lax backchecking and deked Montreal's Cayden Primeau early in the third to given Boston a 5-1 lead. Coyle had been one of several Bruins in a scoring slumber, but he now has three goals in the last two games.

Bruins' Charlie Coyle: Nets lone goal in loss
Coyle scored a goal on two shots in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Penguins.
Coyle snapped a four-game skid with his goal just 1:24 into the game. That was all the Bruins could muster against Tristan Jarry and the Penguins -- a concerning sign giving the visitors' myriad defensive struggles. The Bruins' offense hasn't been anything to write home about either, and that's been obvious with Coyle's own performance. He has five goals, one assist, 35 shots on net, 41 hits, 20 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating over 25 outings, and three of his five tallies have come on the power play.

Bruins' Charlie Coyle: Tallies lone goal on power play
Coyle scored a power-play goal on four shots, added two hits and went minus-2 in Monday's 5-1 loss to the Blue Jackets.
Coyle has scored twice on eight shots over the last three games, though that accounts for nearly half of the Bruins' five goals in that span. The 32-year-old center had a slow start to the season and isn't all the way back, though he has four points over nine contests in November. He's at four goals, one assist, 31 shots on net, 31 hits, 18 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating through 20 outings overall.

Bruins' Charlie Coyle: Scores in blowout loss Thursday
Coyle scored a goal, took three shots and recorded a hit in Thursday's 7-2 loss to the Stars.
The Bruins looked drastically overmatched throughout this entire contest, but Coyle made his presence felt by notching his third goal of the campaign. That said, the center has only three goals and four points across 18 contests in 2024-25. His production has been minimal and doesn't warrant serious consideration for a roster spot, but it's worth noting he's more valuable in formats that reward physicality since he's also racked up 29 hits and 17 blocked shots.

Bruins' Charlie Coyle: Power-play goal in win
Coyle scored a power-play goal on four shots, added two hits and blocked two shots in Sunday's 2-0 win over the Kraken.
Coyle has had a quiet start to 2024-25 -- this was just his second tally and point of the campaign. He went seven games without finding the scoresheet prior to Sunday, posting eight shots on net, 11 hits and a minus-4 rating in that span. The center has a total of 18 shots, 24 hits, 13 blocked shots and a minus-8 rating over 13 appearances. He's hardly the only Bruin to struggle so far, which has allowed him to maintain a top-six role.
