Morrissey delivered his third multi-point effort in his last four games after garnering a pair of primary assists Sunday. The left-shot blueliner set up Vladislav Namestnikov in the first period before adding a helper on Cole Perfetti's empty-netter in the final frame. Morrissey has produced two goals, 13 assists, six power-play points and a plus-7 rating over 12 appearances.

Morrissey scored a power-play goal on five shots, added an assist, logged two hits and blocked two shots in Friday's 6-2 win over the Blue Jackets.
Morrissey earned his fourth multi-point effort of the campaign and his second in the last three games. Both of his points came in the third period as the Jets pulled away with the win. The 29-year-old defenseman is off to another great start in 2024-25 with two goals, 11 assists, six power-play goal, 24 shots on net, 24 blocked shots, eight hits and a plus-7 rating through 11 contests. He's been an elite scorer from the blue line over the last two campaigns and looks set to continue at that level this year.

Jets' Josh Morrissey: Off to best season yet
Morrissey put up a trio of assists Monday in a 6-4 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Two of the apples came on the power play. Morrissey sits tied for second overall in scoring from the blue line with one goal and 10 assists in nine games. Five of his assists have come with the man advantage, and he's fired 18 shots. Morrissey isn't a 100-point defender as his pace would project. But this could still be a career season -- his previous best is 76 points, including 16 goals, which he set in 2022-23. He's a worthy fantasy number one.

Morrissey added one shot, five blocks, one hit and a plus-2 rating with a team-high 22:09 of ice time. Winnipeg's No. 1 defenseman is on fire to start the 2024-25 campaign -- he's riding a five-game point streak (one goal, six assists). Morrissey picked up an even-strength assist in Friday's 2-1 overtime win against the Blackhawks.
Morrissey registered the secondary assist on Mark Scheifele's game-winning goal in overtime. In addition to producing a helper, Morrissey had two shots, two blocks and a plus-2 rating to go along with a team-high 26:17 of ice time. He is the team's No. 1 defenseman and quarterbacks Winnipeg's top power-play unit, giving him plenty of opportunities to secure points. Through the first two games of the 2024-25 campaign, Morrissey is up to three assists and a plus-4 rating.

Jets' Josh Morrissey: Contributes two helpers
Morrissey logged two assists, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 6-0 win over the Oilers.
Morrissey set up goals by Rasmus Kupari and Kyle Connor in the second period, with the latter's tally coming on the power play. While Morrissey isn't among the elite tier of defensemen in the NHL, he's not far behind them after producing point totals of 76 and 69 in his last two seasons. He's also blocked 100-plus shots in six of the last eight years. The 29-year-old should continue to be an elite source of offense, power-play production and blocks while playing heavy minutes for the Jets in 2024-25.

Morrissey's goal tied the game at 2-2 in the second period. The defenseman had three goals, one assist, 12 shots on net, four hits and 12 blocked shots over five playoff contests. He had 69 points, 103 blocks and a plus-34 rating in 81 regular-season outings, his second straight high-quality campaign. Look for Morrissey to continue to serve on the top pairing and first power-play unit in 2024-25.

He was on the receiving end of an elbow from Martin Pospisil in the second period, but Morrissey came out of the encounter no worse for wear. With five points over his last three contests, Morrissey is heating up on offense again.
