  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Yet another clutch goal

Anderson scored a goal Tuesday in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Lightning in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference First Round. Two playoff games. Two playoff goals. Anderson is the epitome of a playoff warrior. His goal put the Habs up 2-1 at 18:36 of the second period. Anderson will be feeling sore Wednesday after being jumped from behind by Brandon Hagel in the first and being run over by Scott Sabourin late in the third. Anderson was skating backwards in front of the benches when Sabourin hammered him blind from behind. Anderson was down for a few minutes before skating off the ice under his own power. He will have an extra day to work out the kinks -- the Habs and Bolts next face-off Friday.

  • Lightning's Charle-Edouard D'Astous: Status in question going forward

D'Astous (undisclosed) exited Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to Montreal in Game 1 and did not return. D'Astous left the game after being hit by Josh Anderson, who received a minor penalty for charging on the play. There was no update on the 27-year-old D'Astous' status after the game. If the defenseman is sidelined for Game 2 on Tuesday, Declan Carlile will probably draw into the lineup in a third-pairing capacity.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Goal and controversial hit in win

Anderson had one goal, four hits and four PIM in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Lightning in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round. Anderson also appeared to have a second goal at the mid-point of the second period, but it was overturned after video review determined he hit the puck above the crossbar. He had just 23 points (14 goals) in 72 regular-season games this season, including only two goals and an assist in his last 21 games, but Anderson is built for playoff hockey. He will have a bullseye on his back for a massive hit on Charle-Edouard D'Astous (undisclosed), who was helped off the ice and didn't return.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Ready for playoffs

Anderson (rest) practiced Thursday and is on track to play in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs this weekend, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports. Anderson sat out the final game of the regular season Tuesday. He finished the season with 14 goals, nine assist, 129 hits and 43 blocked shots over 72 games. He practiced on the fourth line, alongside Phillip Danault and Jake Evans, his likely role in the postseason.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Resting up Tuesday

Anderson is slated to sit out versus Philadelphia on Tuesday, per Patrick Friolet of RDS. With just two goals in his last 21 outings, Anderson will miss the 15-goal threshold for the second time in the last six years. The 31-year-old winger hasn't been able to establish a role with the man advantage, which will continue to limit his fantasy upside in the postseason and beyond.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Lights lamp in loss

Anderson scored a goal in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Blue Jackets. Anderson ended a nine-game point drought, a span in which he missed three contests. Two absences were for an upper-body injury and the third was due to an illness. The 31-year-old has maintained a bottom-six role for much of the campaign. He has 14 goals, 23 points, 89 shots on net, 128 hits, 43 blocked shots, 78 PIM and a minus-4 rating over 71 appearances. Aside from steady totals in PIM and blocks, Anderson's numbers are mostly down, which reflects his shrinking role as the Canadiens have incorporated younger and more talented forwards into the lineup successfully this year.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Available for Tuesday's game

Anderson (illness) will suit up in Tampa Bay on Tuesday, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports. Anderson was under the weather for Sunday's road matchup against Carolina, but he seemingly is no worse for wear for Tuesday's divisional game. The right-shot winger is set to skate on the third line with Zachary Bolduc and Jake Evans in Tampa Bay.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Not playing Sunday

Anderson (illness) won't play against Carolina on Sunday, according to Canadiens reporter Priyanta Emrith. Anderson will miss additional action after leaving Saturday's 4-1 win over Nashville early. He has contributed 13 goals, nine assists, 80 shots on net, 119 hits and 54 PIM across 64 appearances this season. With Anderson and Alexandre Texier (lower body) unavailable to play against the Hurricanes, Arber Xhekaj will suit up as the seventh defender in Sunday's lineup.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Not returning to game

Anderson (illness) won't return to Saturday's game versus the Predators. Anderson exited the game late in the second period and won't be able to return. That puts his status in doubt for Sunday's game against the Hurricanes as well. If Anderson can't play, the Canadiens may need to dress seven defensemen or make a call-up from AHL Laval, assuming Alexandre Texier (lower body) remains out.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Won't play Saturday

Anderson (upper body) won't play against the Islanders on Saturday, per J-F Chaumont of NHL.com. Anderson wasn't on the ice for Saturday's morning skate and will miss his second straight game. • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Not available Thursday

Anderson (upper body) has been ruled out of Thursday's clash in Detroit, RDS.ca reports. Anderson has 13 goals, nine assists, 112 hits and 52 PIM over 61 games this season. The 31-year-old should be considered day-to-day at this time. Look for Joe Veleno, or possibly Patrik Laine (abdomen) to enter the lineup in place of Anderson.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Three-point effort in win

Anderson scored the game-winning goal and added two assists in Wednesday's 5-1 victory over the Jets. The rugged winger gave the Habs a 2-1 lead early in the second period by tipping home a point shot by Jayden Struble. The GWG was Anderson's first of the season, and the three-point performance was also a season best. He heads into the Olympic break with 12 goals, 20 points, 95 hits, 63 shots on net, 44 PIM, 30 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating through 51 games.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Goal, assist in overtime win

Anderson scored a goal on two shots, dished an assist, logged two hits, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Senators. Anderson did a little of everything in this high-scoring game. He has three points over three contests since he returned from an upper-body injury. The veteran winger is at 11 goals, five assists, 56 shots on net, 40 PIM, 79 hits and 29 blocked shots over 43 appearances this season, mainly in a third-line role.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Tallies shortie in return

Anderson scored a shorthanded goal on two shots and added two hits in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Capitals. Anderson missed the previous six games due to an upper-body injury. His goal Tuesday opened the scoring at 8:14 of the first period. The 31-year-old winger has 14 points (10 goals, four assists) over 41 contests, and he's earned three of those points while shorthanded. He's also accumulated 54 shots on net, 38 PIM, 76 hits and 28 blocked shots while mostly playing on the third line.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Good to go

Anderson (upper body) will return to the lineup against Washington on Tuesday, per Patrick Friolet of RDS. Following a six-game absence, Anderson will occupy a third-line role against the Capitals on Tuesday. He has supplied nine goals, 13 points, 52 shots on net, 74 hits and 38 PIM across 40 appearances this season. With Anderson good to go, Owen Beck will be a healthy scratch.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Will take warm-up

Anderson (upper body) will be on the ice for warmups before a decision is made regarding his availability against Washington on Tuesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. Anderson has been on the shelf for the Habs' lineup since Jan. 1 versus the Hurricanes, a stretch of six games on the sidelines. If Anderson does return to action, it will likely be in a bottom-six role that could see Sammy Blais or Owen Beck dropped from the lineup as a healthy scratch.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Won't play Monday

Anderson (upper body) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Canucks. Anderson resumed skating Sunday, but he'll be unavailable for a sixth consecutive game Monday. He remains day-to-day for now, and head coach Martin St. Louis indicated Monday that Anderson is a possibility for Tuesday's game against Washington, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports. Owen Beck will remain in the lineup for Monday's matchup against Vancouver.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Sitting out again

Anderson (upper body) will not play Saturday versus the Red Wings, Arpon Basu of The Athletic reports. Anderson is set to miss his fifth straight game. Owen Beck remains in the lineup in place of Anderson. The Canadiens begin a back-to-back set with a home game Monday against the Canucks followed by a road game versus the Capitals, and it's unclear if Anderson will be available for either of those contests.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Sidelined again

Anderson (upper body) won't play versus the Panthers on Thursday, per the NHL media site. Anderson will miss his fourth straight game. There has been no update on his status since the injury occurred last Thursday versus the Hurricanes. It's unclear if he will be able to return Saturday versus the Red Wings.

  • Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Scores two late goals Saturday

Anderson scored a short-handed goal and an empty-net goal in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Penguins. Anderson came through late in the game for the Canadiens, giving Montreal a 3-0 lead with a shortie at the 12:14 mark of the final frame and later tallying an empty-netter with a wrister at 17:02. This was Anderson's second multi-goal performance of the season, with the prior one coming against the Maple Leafs in a 5-2 win Nov. 22. He has eight goals this season, but as a player who has a bottom-six role and is not part of the top power-play unit, his chances of contributing in fantasy on a steady basis are slim right now.
